for the impersonation contest, i did a look based off of my good friend, in-game spouse, and eternal muse
kimdracula! we decided to impersonate each other, so we're posting our looks together <3
even if we hadn't decided to do looks for each other, i definitely would have chosen to do a look for her either way. i've been a long time enjoyer of her shop items, and love how she layers her outfit pieces - no outfit is ever fully premade pieces, which is something i really admire in terms of creativity and try to do as well. kimdracula is one of my biggest inspirations on this site, and whenever i'm fresh out of ideas, i go look at her page. i always run my outfits by her, so it only seems right to make an outfit based off of her looks :-)
here is the outfit i created to impersonate kimdracula!!
let's talk a little bit about my creative choices here. she often chooses to incorporate body hair into her looks, so it was a must for me. layering different hair was also important! kimdracula uses a lot of different hair options together, and typically the hairs & wigs end up lending a lot of volume. she also commonly uses the hair flowers she created in her outfits, so i wanted to incorporate them here! that's how i got to the inclusion of blue as a main color here :-) her outfits also sometimes have lots of layered long skirts, which i tried to incorporate with the blue under layer to the dress(?) i layered together. i also used the midsummer collar as a top layer to the sleeve of the dress, which is something she's done before. she's also a big fan of crosses in a sacrilegious manner, which i wanted to incorporate here. i think the necklace i picked, while being on a couple of her other outfits, also works well with the black shoes and hair and the white of the dress & fog! i decided on the shoes because i wanted something black to match the hair and necklace, and something a little more dainty to fit the vibe of the outfit. i also wanted to include some of her shop creations, since this look is done in homage to her account (i do my best to include something of hers in all of my looks, since i love her work so much), so the blue underskirt is something she made.
we both use the kotoko eyes in our outfits, but i thought it would be more interesting to use the blushing eyes which she sometimes incorporates, as a step away from what i typically do! i've also tried to use the eye sparkles before, but it's never worked on my bimbo's makeup, so it was super fun to be able to incorporate those here! figuring out the lip layering was also really enjoyable, and i think i might try to incorporate the merida's lips into my makeup sometime, as they're pretty similar to the confused lips i've used in the past. luckily our makeup processes seem pretty similar, so i just had to adjust to using the sweet asian face. i also picked some blue eyeshadow to match the layering of the constructed dress i used.
for the background, i found the gradients, balcony, and fogs to be super helpful in hiding the main body of the background since i just wanted the moon! i noticed that kimdracula often has fantasy backgrounds with balconies, so i thought it would be super interesting to try with one of the newer, bluer backgrounds by misskaika for spooktober (spooktober fest misskaika's halloween background 7). kimdracula's looks often have a slight gothic vibe to them, so i thought it'd be cool to incorporate that here even if the bats and ravens/crows didn't end up showing up that much. she also tends toward using the sparkle and gradient digitals, so i wanted to incorporate those although i didn't end up layering a gradient on top as i was afraid it would obscure the look too much with the presence of the fog there already. i think the sparkles work really well with the white of the background, and i put the gradient over them so that they didn't stand out overmuch.

this concludes my love letter to kimdracula ( ˘⌣˘)♡(˘⌣˘ ) thank you for hosting this contest, it has been super fun! often i get stuck in outfit block (especially as i tend to host contests rather than participate in them), but this really worked to bring me out of it. i had a really great time and was genuinely excited making this outfit!
