Hello citizens of Secville,
Welcome to The Flutter! This week there have been some adjustments to our typical format. We'll have our talking point as per usual, though we'll also have a news round-up bimonthly.
News Round-up:
Prime Ximbo Fashion Contest: This month's PXFC is currently accepting submissions. The theme is ball-jointed dolls: "Are you articulated? Do you have huge and shiny eyes with beautiful lashes? Are you slightly creepy or unnerving? Dress like the most stunning ball-jointed doll!" Click here for the submission portal!
State Minister Election Results: The results of this term's State Minister elections are out and I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me to reprise my role as acting State Minister of Secville! If you have any queries or need assistance with anything, feel free to direct message me.
Movie Mayhem [Secville Fashion Contest]: There is currently a Secville-exclusive fashion contest up in the Secville Town Hall! The theme is male celebrities and movie characters: "Dress up as your favourite male movie star or character! Walk down the red carpet in style, swing from a building using spider webs or wow us with something else entirely! Since the theme is so vast, don't be afraid to go wild and experiment to your heart's content." Click here for the submission topic!
Secville's Judging Panel: As promised, I'll be giving members of Secville the opportunity to work with me to judge fashion contests and plan events. More details to follow soon!
The Member Board: Similar to Antitheocra's birthday board, I'll be creating a topic for members of Secville to post their birthdays and any other information they'd like to about themselves. It will also double up as a way for us to identify members of Secville easily to post banner adverts to, so try not to post more than once in it! The name is still tentative, it won't be this hideous when I put it up (hopefully).
Ximboland Fashion Week: Despite delays, the final round of Ximboland Fashion Week is currently underway. AuntieLice made it to the finale from Secville, so let's keep our fingers crossed that she can secure the win!
Talking Point:
This week's talking point is life-changing experiences!I'd say the most life-changing experience I've ever had was being profusely complimented by an experienced professor at my university. Normally I'm terrible at accepting compliments, but for some reason he made me a lot more self-assured in who I was and stressed the importance of having confidence and faith in yourself. I noticed I'm a lot less harsh on myself because of him, in a strange way, and I allow myself to be human in situations where I previously valued stoicism and ambivalence. For me, it was something that undeniably shaped my mindset for the better despite being such a trivial thing.
Of course, this is just one small experience which I felt worth sharing. There have been other but I think I'd get banned for saying them, LOL! As always, Secville, feel free to share your own experiences. This week there is no poll due to the vastness of the topic! Other states are also free to drop in.
