Hey Citizens Of Antitheocra lets Come up with a state motto In the United States every state has their own for example California is known as the Golden State because of the Gold Rush but its Motto is "Eureka I Found it" which refers to finding gold.we will take the top suggestions after 10 days and put them to a poll vote the one with the most votes will become our State Motto

So, to give us something to go off of (as far as ideas) I know you used the example of California being known as the Golden State because of the Gold Rush...is there anything in particular that Antitheocra is known for (such as your example of the Gold Rush for California?) Or should we just come up with ideas that we think would be well-suited as a State Motto type of thing? Also, just looking at a lot of the state mottos as far as the United States is concerned...in modern times some of them seem almost random-ish and at least some are even in Latin. Don't know about you, but I don't speak Latin lmao. XD Also, some are, like, a single word or something. ...I guess I'm mostly asking if we want this to be more like a...State Motto as in, like, "words to live by" sort of a motto instead of whatever the Founding Father's based our various State Mottos in the U.S. on, or if you were looking for something more along the lines of the U.S. State Mottos in the more simple one-word (or one-sentence) sense? ...Or if you were just using it as an example and maybe I'm over-thinking this?? Anyway...the only semi-decent-ish idea for a motto that I've had so far *is* actually in Latin....and it's probably really dumb & speaks to my own...morbidity, I guess. But, like I said, it's the only thing I've thought of so far that's worth mentioning (though looking at our state's "values" I'm not really so sure that it suits all that well). Regardless...it's "Memento Mori" which, (just in case you don't already know), means "Don't forget your own mortality." or "Remember that you too shall die." ...In loose terms, that's the basic idea behind it. Morbid, yes, as I said....but I actually mostly got the idea from our state "symbol" thing, the Vulture. It's a carrion birds and scavenger, and they are usually found circling around something or someone that is dying or has died recently. Historically they've usually been seen as ill omens or used as foreshadowing (of death or, again, other ill omens) in literature. They feed on bodies of the deceased, whether people or animals... So as far as them being our "state symbol" so to speak I found that...an interesting thing to draw inspiration from when thinking of ideas. Might not suit with our state values so well, but I think "Memento Mori" goes well with the symbol/animal that represents our state.

For instance I didn't even know what the motto for my state was and had to look it up...it's one of the weird Latin ones that translates into something along the lines of "God is bountiful" or "God provides" or something...and there wasn't really any explanation (that actually made any logical sense, anyway) as to why that was our state's motto. Living here my whole life it sure doesn't make any sense to me, but whatever. -shrugs- ....I'm also not the religious sort so that could possibly have something to do with it but...I don't even know... -smh-

Most state views are condescending or very
contradictory but that has something to do with being bimbo's I guess. Lots of prejudices. But the fact that this state is pro abortion and against death penalty and weapons is part of the reason I chose Antitheocra.
I have been thinking about a state motto all week and honestly I can't come up with much. I did notice we have a small population but they are highly active and quite smart too. But still it doesn't inspire me to come up with something. I'll keep on thinking and if I come up wit anything I'll post it here.

Hm...y'know there's also the Latin phrase, "Memento Mori et Carpe Diem" which essentially means, "Know that you will die, but in so knowing seize the day while you can." It's sort of the same "live life to the fullest" idea behind "Carpe Diem" but with the added "the knowledge of your own mortality shall drive you forward to do so" sort of thing. It's a commonly held belief/idea among many people who view death as something that shouldn't be feared or shied away from, but the knowledge that it's just another inevitable part of life shouldn't impede them from continuing to live their lives to the fullest & do what they want to do or be who they want to be either.
Well I still can't come up with much. The only one I could come up with is: We are the free. Which you could translate to Latin to make it sound more interesting: Liberi enim sumus.

I know no one's really commented anything here for a while, but I just wanted to mention that, out of the proposed ideas so far, I do like Sandi's, "Liberi enim sumus" the best. I feel that it suits our state's individuality well.
We may be the smallest state, but our most active members are well-known around the forum & none of us are afraid to speak our minds about the most important of issues. That speaks to the "freedom of speech" & makes me feel that the motto of "We are the free" or "We or the bold" or something to that effect would suit our small but outspoken state best.
Also, another idea since we are the smallest state but, again, our most active members are generally quite outspoken (in a good way, so far as I'm concerned), is to maybe have some sort of motto that's along the lines of "Rooting for the underdog" (but, y'know, with more interesting wording). ...Maybe something more along the lines of "The few standing for the many" or "Even the smallest voice can speak the largest words" or just, like I said, the whole, "Rooting for the underdog/Sticking up for the 'little guy'" type of thing...just in more eloquent terms that I can't think of right now haha. I don't know, I guess I'd just started thinking about it again recently & wanted to share my thoughts on it before I forgot again haha. Curse my terrible memory!! -shakes fist- :P
