I feel you 100%. The thing is I don't even know what to avoid anymore because sometimes is so random. I tried breathing exercises recently and they are really helpful but sometimes I just can't focus on them. And also I noticed it helps me having someone with me even if they are not doing anything to help I just feel safe it that makes sense. I'm having attacks more often when I'm alone.
Also recently I found out about some physical symptoms I've been ignoring. I tend to feel really nauseous whenever my anxiety kicks in and it messes up with my stomach a lot. I won't go into detail but yeah it's pretty bad. Did you experience similar things?

For sure! it's like totally odd sometimes you just wake up in the morning and it's there. My partner calls it morning sickness with me, when i've had a trigger I sometimes won't be aware until I get those morning sickness feelings. We go though it together and try to find out what's making me anxious. I'm a lot better now than I ever was, we moved from the city and I changed to a job where I don't have any major responsibilities. I now manage pretty well, my biggest issue is with social activities. So I avoid stuff like going out to clubs and pubs and stuff like that.

When I struggle with anxiety I like to do the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 countdown to ground me back into the moment! If you don't know it, it is usually looking for 5 things you can see, 4 things you can physically feel (the floor or something), 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. You don't have to actually go and touch the floor or smell food, but it is focus shift that helps with anxiety.

Oooh Honey, yes i've seen that technique on film. I'd forgotten all about that. It's a really good way of diverting those bad feelings. I've been so much better but still get caught out when faced with the uncertain, you know if we are planning a trip away and i've never seen the place we are visiting. Thanks to Google street view and satellite mapping I'm more confident because I can get a feel of a town before we travel. In general new things (experiences) are always my biggest triggers.
