❆ 2023 Secret Santa Art Exchange ❆
Hello everyone! Happy holiday season, whatever you celebrate! Ximboland users are so creative and many of us draw, so I thought it would be a fun idea to organize a Secret Santa art exchange where we draw each other's outfits! There is no skill barrier to entry—you can be any level of artist, you just have to want to draw an art piece for someone else!
I was advised by PB to post this here, but this thread will be moved to National Gallery after the exchange is finished! This isn't a contest (no prizes), just an exchange!
❆ Fill out this form by November 25th if you want to participate, and please read it over carefully ❆
Important Dates:
❆ November 25th: Form closes! After this, you will not be able to participate! I will close it sometime on the 26t (PST), so please do not wait!
❆ Week of November 26th: I will send out all the matches sometime this week via Ximboland DM! Once you receive it, please reply to the message to confirm you got it and will be completing your art piece!
❆ December 25th: Art pieces are due this day! We will all post them in this forum thread.
❆ December 31st: The last possible day to turn in your piece. This is if you have received an extension from me. Please post it on the 25th otherwise (any time zone)
❆ January 21st: If an artist drops out at the last possible second (12/31), this is the last date for any backup artists to share their piece with their giftee.
Rules:
❆ This is an exchange built around drawn art. Traditional and digital visual art are both fine, but no writing, edits, photography, etc!
❆ No AI art/AI-generated works. AI steals from real artists and is not in the spirit of this exchange.
❆ Don't let your giftee know who you are until you send the gift on December 25th! Some of the fun is in the secret!
❆ You must be at least level 20 or have 30+ forum posts to participate! If you are a newbie and you are 100% sure you will be active on Ximboland to complete and send your gift on December 25th, message me and I'll make an exception. This is to limit the number of people who drop out, not to exclude anyone.
❆ Please read the form carefully before you submit! There is a ton of important info there.
❆ When you fill out the form, please be sure you will be able to participate! Obviously emergencies happen and I'm trying to plan for that, but when you sign up you should fully believe you will be able to finish your piece.
General Guidelines:
❆ If you realize after signing up or receiving your match that you will not be able to participate, please DM me to let me know ASAP so that I can assign your giftee to someone else/find a backup.
❆ Similarly, if you still want to complete your gift but something's come up and you need a little more time, let me know so that I can give an extension and let your giftee know their art piece will be a little late.
❆ If you do not want to be paired up with any particular Ximbos, please state that in the form.
❆ Try to create a piece you are proud of! Full-body, headshot, etc. are all okay, but I would ask that we all try to make something polished (however you define that for yourself)! You don't have to color the piece, but if you feel comfortable working with color I would highly recommend it, as we put a lot of color into our outfits and it's a fun thing to see!
❆ Please mark on the form if you would be willing to be a backup if someone drops out! This would mean creating another piece for someone else. This is so no one is left out! I will fill in gaps as needed, also.
Gifting:
I will try to reach out throughout the month (privately and in the forum) to make sure everyone is on track to complete their piece. I'll also post about it in the forum a few days before gifting day.
On December 25th (Christmas, any time zone is fine), you can begin posting your pieces in this thread! You can check this thread if you aren't sure how to post images. Please also DM your giftee the image or a link to the image! By participating in this exchange you are allowing other Ximbos to use your art (with credit!) on their profile if they want, but if you want to post your gifted art anywhere outside of the site, please ask the artist first!
Please be patient with each other! We should all ideally post our pieces on the 25th, but if it's late by a couple days just try to be understanding, life happens.
