what? i always use reputation artifacts before completing an achievement and it always works!

my question is, how do artifacts that make things cheaper work? for example, right now hairdress is for 50% cheaper, but with senatorship are they 60% cheaper or is the 10% substracted from the 50% cheaper price? and if in this case you stack cheaper hairdress artifacts, how does the math work? because right now, with senatorship and craze and artifacts that i used (7%, 7%, 11%, 11% percent cheaper) i should have 96% cheaper items but they are not like that, i think the items that would be 550B$ are like 141B$. so... anyone good at maths willing to do some calculations why is that? i'd be very happy to know!

The 10% adds up with 50% one that I know for sure.
While playing I have noticed that there is some limit that artifacts can give for discount. If there is no craze everything calculates right. But if there is craze the discount the artifacts give seems less.
Since it's a bug in programming I suggest you to report it since the adminds are the only ones who can solve this isue.

oh, it's a bug? maybe it was intentional, because imagine a situation where you have the senatorship, there's a 50% craze and you use 5 artifacts that give you 15% discount on top of that, in such case theoretically we would make money on buying stuff... i thought such mechanics was put into place so it could be prevented, but idk really, i just wanted to ask about the mathematics of such a situation. who should i contact then, our PB?

I agree it can also be made intentionaly to avoid situation like baying clothes or hairs for 0 BD. Or like you said even gain money from it.
I'm not sure if she will have the answear to this since this matters is decision from admins or site owner himself. But you can ask Lilly if you want she will not mind it ^_^

Honestly, I didn't really pay attention on discounts and if they add up correctly during the craze. It is possible there is some limit because it doesn't make sense to get items completely for free, even less for a minus value. With senators it would be even easier because senators have 10% off in the start, which adds up with 50% or whatever craze discount is. Five artifacts of 15% make 75%. No way we can have a discount of 135%.
I am certainly going to test it during some of next crazes with discounts. My guess is that maybe in such situations we get a discount based on artifacts and senator bonus as a starting point and then 50% or 30% off it. So if item costs let's say 100 b$, with 5 x 15% (artifacts) off + 10% (senator bonus) off it's 85% off and item costs 15 b$. Then, 50% off of that sum which is 7or 8 b$. Or, artifacts discount as a starting point which would make it 25 b$ and then 60% (craze + senator bonus) off of it which makes it 15 b$.

Anyway, if notice any irregularity or something strange, the best way is to report it like Blecky said already if none of us have the answer.

actually i tested it myself and posted about it in reputation points helper thread, so i'll just copy it here:

i don't know if it's a huge discovery, but i've just done some math and i figured out that when there's a craze and you add discount artifacts on top of that, the % that artifact gives you is substracted from the amount after the craze started. i tested this when there was a craze for make-up, i checked contact lenses prices every time i applied an artifact. so, the lenses are 1000 B$ and when there was a 50% craze they costed 400B$, because the senator discount is 10% and it adds normally, so the total discount at this point is 60%. but when i used 5 artifacts for 11% discount, the price dropped by 44B$ every time, so by 11% from 400B$. i think the absolute maximum discount you can have is 90% and you'd have to have senatorship and use 5x15% discount artifacts during a 50% craze. i think this system is pretty good and it prevents buying items for 0B$.

someone else probably figured that out before me, but if you didn't know - here you go!!
