based on the name, I think we should stick with the narrative of an officially secular state, though I think it's totally think that the citizens of Atheista need not adhere strictly to this and can worship whatever dieties they desire. I think that popular ones would be Dionysus and Aphrodite!! I think I would definitely choose Aphrodite myself. we should set up holidays based on the values that we deem most important (beauty, freedom, celebration, kindness, sharing, etc) and come up with rituals and celebrations that put these into practice

I don't entirely agree with everyone commenting that Atheista should be a totally 100% atheist state = little to no religion. I don't think there'd be a single religion, but I think instead Atheista would have religious but also atheist views. Like, I think there'd be people who practice religion, but don't do so with the intent of worshipping actual, literal gods. I think we'd engage in nature worship, since that's a pretty religious but atheist kind of spirituality, as opposed to just no religion whatsoever. But I do agree with what @stella16 said, that our holidays would be based on values we find important instead. I also think that we'd celebrate certain pagan holidays too but mostly to promote the environment and caring for it.

Guys lets make a state ocean day/ week / month. I think that would be so cute. We could have an ocean themed fashion contest, have some related discussion boards. I have no idea who has the power to make those kind of decisions though.
I think a day/week/moth celebrating the ocean/fish/etc would be a great idea, since it would give a lot of character to Atheista, y'know? Sometimes all the different states can kinda seem the same, but having something uniquely ours, that other's can't really copy (since we're the only fishes!) that we embrace really helps make us stand out above the crowd.
SO on board with this fish/ocean thing!!
