I would say i actually do have concerns about the lqbtq community, of course there are some right weirdos out there, but honestly it feels like being lgbtq is some sort of special club and when youth are trying to find their way in the world they will try different things, but it doesent automatically mean they are this or that. And there is a bit of a push to be -unique- or -special-. I do feel mental health screening is very important when it comes to trans, because trauma and misogyny and other mental health issues can make some people feel like they need to be someone else.

But seriously do u know how hard it is to like. Get trans healthcare. U need to have a therapist/psych letter to ur surgeon or doctor to get the surgeries or hormones. And u need to be going to that psych/therapist for at least a year. I think it’s interesting you mention misogyny in particular when talking about trans people cus this is a terf talking point when talking about trans men. like. Trans women exist. Do u know how much sexism transfems face. If ur even a little clockable ur like gonna get ur ass beat for the crime of serving cunt. Also There’s nothing wrong with experimenting with gender or sexuality and deciding hey maybe u are cishet or whatever. And ya know what trauma or whatever who gives a shit anout the why someone wants to change they gender, those types of surgeries have the lowest regret rates. Dysphoria is a mental health issue and the treatment is suprise suprise getting hormones and surgery or transitioning in the way that makes you feel happy and not like you wanna blow your brains out because you don’t look how you should in the mirror.
It must depend on where you live, because i did not have to go through all that to have surgery. You did bring up a good point about mtf vs ftm, but i would say it actually goes both ways, there can be a lot of pressure as a female, but also as a man. I was actually a little surprised at how easy it was to get surgery approved. Gender dysphoria is real. But I also know that other mental health issues can also make people feel uncomfortable in their bodies. It's important to have somet things in place to make sure that this truly is the right decision for a person. They did not give many warnings about side effects and consequences to me. Our experiences may be different but that's why this is important to talk about

im sorry but theres no way u got top or bottom surgery like a full one without a psych eval. like legally the doctors have to have that note. if ur american u LEGALLY have to have that. and u have to live as the gender ur transitioning for, for a year MINIMUM. i know uk has similar rules afiak, and china requires a year of therapy, over the age of 18, and psychiatric therapy before surgery.
i still find it really hard to believe u didnt know what u were getting into. theres a LOT in place to make sure u dont regret it. ur country must have incredibly lax rules. which if so what fucking country dude i want easy surgeries.

dude I'm going to get my tubes tied, and I've been through three primary care providers and I've been jumping around gynos trying to find someone who will even do the procedure with the fact I don't have kids... I've made some headway but even when I lock this in I'm going to have to wait a few years, before I can even schedule the surgery. And I'm not even doing this for gender affirming reasons! TLDR I literally live in a blue state and I still have to jump through hoops so idk where the hell "its too easy to get surgery" is coming from
No i am not from America, yes i got a psych letter, after one session. I did not have to live as another gender, i dont really understand how thats even a thing, because it's extremely hard to make people view you a certain way when you obviously look different. I did not know the trans people existed until I was probably 16. Of course I tried to learn as much as I could on my own, I had some idea of the risks. But I'm saying the doctors did not inform me. Even something as simple as losing weight before having a surgery was not told to me. I had to find that out on my own. I was able to find some of this information online. My friend at the time was on hormones, and they got this stuff illegally. They were the in fact the person who told me trans was even a thing. It is interesting to hear how much some of you are going through to get this in America, and I do have to say that it definitely sucks. I think some barriers should be in place, but not make things impossible either. I have definitely dealt with some biased doctors in regards to other things. And had friends deal with similar stuff as the person above, doctors being rude/ denying service basically in regards to reproductive health. I guess I have a little more comfortable talking about this stuff now and this is somewhat anonymous being online, but it was something that I always kept very quiet.
