Ngl as a bisexual irl, I'm sick and tired of some of yall who apart of the LGBT community invalidating us because we simply prefer one gender than another. We feel left out...yall do fucking realize bi erasure exists like calling us "greedy" "allies" etc. HURTS! We are often fetishised by the heterosexuals the most and especially some of you guys who are apart of the LGBT community.

Lemme also say this just because bisexuals like both genders doesn't mean that we will automatically like "threesomes" I don't like threesomes so cut the bullshit and stop being biphobic. That is a stereotype and a generalization towards the bi community

For real, bi and pan erasure is such a big issue in the lgbt community. I often feel invalidated and i have been told i just need to '' make up my mind''. But yeah  totally get you on that one.

yeah in the same vein i hate when i say most times i have no preference or sometimes i prefer men more (i fluctuate) and people will say "oh don't you mean __" or "no ur straight instead actually" it's MY sexuality and i'm tired of people acting like bisexuality is strictly attracted to two genders or not valid at all

100% agree!! I actually have a story about biphobia within the LGBT community. It's not that severe, but I will put a trigger warning here because it's better to be safe than sorry.

Anyways, I was walking to my bus one day when I was still in high school and I heard a guy I knew to be gay talking to his friend a few feet back from me. They were talking about another guy who originally identified as gay but eventually came out as bi and started dating a girl and for some reason the guy behind me was super confused about it. I heard the guy say "No he can't be bi, he's too good for that" about the other guy and it really infuriated me. I hope he grew out of his biphobia

can we also talk about shaming bi women for liking men? its not bad to like men and bi/pan people should not be pressured to downplay their attraction to men

Tbh as a bisexual I’ve only had meaningful relationships (meaningful being dating or being qpps) with non-binary people and I wasn’t sure why it worked out that way until I realized I was non-binary LMFAOO

and that's perfectly fine! bisexuality is fluid and everyone has their preferences--it's not simply "liking men and women," its so much more and spreading the 2 only idea downplays experiences like yours :(

One very common issue when you're bi/pan/ace is that a lot of people usually believe that your sexuality depends on your relationship when it's actually a part of who you are and it doesn't change according to your partner. Of course, privilege came on a scale and people on gay relationship needs to deal with a lot of pressure and risks that you usually don't go through when you're bi on a straight relationship. However, it doesn't mean that this person will not suffer from other's bigotry as well. People often try to put you under a label or invalidate your feelings, because "you must choose", but also, no matter what you choose, people will use it against you. If you're in a straight relationship, you're a deceiving person lying to your partner, if you're in a gay relationship, you "just wanna be cool". Everyone else thinks that they know better than you what you feel and it really sucks. I'm demi, in a long term relationship with a woman, but I already get beaten because I don't look straight, my father tried to exorcized me and when I arrived on high school, a bunch of boys starts to screaming "faggot" and so goes on, but what hurts most is when your own community doesn't accept you because you feel you need to get through it alone.

And I might get some dislikes for this post, but I don't care. What people need to perceive is that privilege exists on a scale, and also the prejudice that you face when you're part of a minority group. So, yes. Bisexual folks get oppressed and suffer because of that and, no, this suffering doesn't diminish the importance of the suffering from gay people or trans people. I study social dynamics as part of my college graduation, and here is the truth: the more divided we get, the easier is to hegemony preserve their power because we divide and segregate ourselves. Also, there are several other dynamics that affect how people are treated by the world and society, so each one has its own pain. There are racial, economic, gender questions... There are people who need to deal with physical disabilities, other people are neurodivergent and even the place you live affects how those biases affect your life. My point is... Yes, some people held more privileges than others and it's our responsibility to acknowledge the privileges we got. Still, everyone's pain is valid and we all deserve to be accepted and treated with respect. Being a jerk with other minority groups, as bi/pan/aces will not make the world a better place.
