Have you tried logging in on another device, browser or in incognito mode on your current browser? This sounds like a big bug! O_o

Oh no... I really hope this gets fixed ASAP! It might be useful to gather up as much information as you can on this, in order to make it easier and likelier for your problem to be fixed. Like when did it start, what was the last thing you did?

It's just cost me 300 diamonds to try adding one extra favourite to my list. Even then it wouldn't let me do it.!
Has this got something to do with previously being given a senatorship and having increased my favourites whiles having a senatorship?
Can I get my diamonds back?

I strongly suspect this is the case :( Losing senatorship halved your favourites maximum and as you were likely above the halfway mark this just increased your stats from like 100/80 to 100/90 (to give a banal example). You can report it and maybe it'll get refunded? But I'm doubtful.
