it depends. We always put up the Christmas tree, according to tradition, on Christmas Eve, but I take out the rest of the things gradually from November. e.g. I have two Christmas cups that live in the attic and come back to the kitchen only between December 6 and January 27. In my house it is customary that January 27 - my younger brother's birthday officially ends the Christmas period. then all the decorations disappear.

Do you put up your decorations up before December or do you wait till it's as close to Christmas as possible?

It is not that I wait for Christmas to come close, but since I am usually preoccupied with work, I end up putting decorations at the very last minute.

Since I live away from home because of university, I personally don’t put any Christmas decs up (mainly because I don’t have storage for them and can’t afford too) but when I go home, my family always has the house decorated. When I get my own place, I’d preferably put the Christmas decs up in the last week of November. It takes a lot of time and effort to put everything up and make the house look all pretty, so I’d like to enjoy that for as long as possible. Personally for me I know if I left it till the week before Christmas, I’d never put them away until February on the grounds of “I just put them up!”

When I lived with my parents we used to do it on Christmas Eve because of tradition. Since I moved I just do it whenever I can find some time and I leave the lights until the spring comes because they are just too pretty.

I like to put up my Christmas decor after thanksgiving. I've noticed that up north a lot more people decorate for the holidays, I love looking at people's houses! That sounds a bit wrong lol but that's why they put up stuff, right?

Choice: Diamonds plz and thank you!

Hmmm. Well, to be honest, I don't decorate. I lived alone in an apartment for the last 7 years. No reason to put up a tree for just me. I put tinsel on my balcony last year. Does that count?
Today, I put a window sticker of a penguin on my office door at work. Does that count?

(Choice: 5 tokens, if my answer counts)

Usually my family puts decorations up at the very start of December, sometimes the weekend after Thanksgiving if we're able. We don't do much more than our Christmas tree though, so there isn't much to do :p
(5 Diamonds please ♥)
