I think adulting sucks... and I've been an adult for a while.
Examples:
--it's harder to make friends as an adult. And it feels like you can lose them easily. People move for work. They get married and/or have kids and stop getting together with other adults. Etc.
--Household chores, like laundry & dishwashing. Someone said toe today that it basically takes the whole weekend to do errands & chores. Then, she's back to work outside the home the next 5 days. I can relate.

That's so real, CinnamonSugar. I know there are like places to go to make friends but it's not the same. It doesn't come close to forced proximity with the same people for 7hrs a day 5 days a week for 13 years that we get with public schooling. Even then, you're taught/learn how to socialize as a child or adolescent, not how to socialize as an adult. Sure, there's theatre classes/improv classes, art classes, trivia nights/clubs/bars/yada yada to go to but sometimes social anxiety conquers all that.
I've never had a full time job but I've been a full time college student and participating in 2 sports at once and my god it is exhausting doing chores. The best thing I learned is to do your dishes as soon as you're done with them, tricking yourself into believing "I'm a clean-as-I-go type of person," and wearing clothes like jeans and hoodies more than once.

I honestly can't believe I made it to 2024. I struggle with my mental health so every year that goes by I see as a big victory, whether it's a birthday or a new year. To everyone else who also struggles with mental illness, just know I am so happy for you that you've made it this far! Nice job!
