If you really want to grow your hair ... then stop processing it, limit down your heat tools, and get regular trims.I don't process it at all. I cut it in April and all I've done so far is twist it. I add coconut oil to it twice a week but it's so short. My aunt suggested adding weed to the coconut oil but I can't even imagine my hair smelling of weedAll this helped me grow and appreciate my natural hair more, but also it's important to note that not everyones hair can grow super long. Mine is just below my boobs and I feel like it hasn't grown any further in the past several months. Everyone's hair cycle is different .-.But if I think back to when my hair was really damaged from fused extensions ... I used a lot of coconut oil (unrefined, organic) and weekly masks to give it back some strength.
Occasionally to increase my shine of the hair I use a bottle of beer and it makes my hair look great after I shower (I just pour it on my hair and leave it for 2-3 min.). But for strength, because I also had many hair color changes and had to be bleach, I use egg yolks once 1-2 months, I leave it for 15 -20 min. (it's kinda messy, but efficient). (Note: if you want to try it, use cold water when rising, or the egg will cook).Thank you, I used eggs and toothpaste on my dreads. I didn't realize I could use it on straight hair
I did try other products that hairdressers said it will increase my strength of my hair, but honestly it did more damage. So I just do those treatments once I feel like my hair needs some improvement.
P.S. Also o trick that someone taught me was to never brush your hair while wet because it's very fragile. It's better to dry and then brush it.
