I have many 'cross dressing' friends, but I don't understand your reluctance.   Clothes are just fabric in a style.   Be it a man or woman,  you should feel comfortable with what you wear.   IT'S YOUR STYLE !!!
Of course, you should wear something that accentuates your body/image.
I'm a nearly a ** year old woman, and grand-mother with a body that still can wear children's clothes.   Guess what_____   I do still buy children's clothes to wear because I think the patterns on childerns clothes suit me better than the "DULL-ASS- JANE" clothes that bore me to death, and I'm forced to wear during my professional life.   I get crazy when I see cute clothes to buy for myself.
Of course I'm also self confident,  and well known in my community,  so I can pretty much dress as stupidly or childish as I want.
I HATE the fashion police....   I think it would be fun to see a man dress up in clothes that don't look like they came from digging a grave,  or smell like cow-shit wearing boot's./////     OK.......
This subject has me very passionate.....
Why are men doomed to wear dreadful clothing?
PC culture?  Homophobia?  Bigotry? Social norm's?
My GOD,  I laugh at men wearing swimsuits in America because they are now longer than what men wore in the 1900's,   Yet as a woman,  I'm wearing nothing more than a bra and panties in public.
I hate these double standards of clothing for the PEOPLE.
Yes,  I know some trans-gendered men and women,  and I still cannot decide if they are male or female, because they are able to dress as they like and behave as such.
Let's just say wearing a miniskirt with a flowing 'biker- beard'  might be tacky.....
But if you can find a style that suits your body and your willing to treat your body with care,  you can look beautiful in anything you wear.    Finding a style that suits you is always the hardest part......
I discovered mine when I was 10 year's old and screamed at my mother to stop making me clothes.   I begged her to take me to a store, for my first dress.   When I got there...   I could chose only one.    I was in tears after 2 hours and trying on 20 different dresses.    Finding a personal style is much harder than the 'Cultural Media' tells you.  Add in 'cross-dressing' and it must be a nightmare for you.    I personally despise the word, 'cross-dressing'.   There really is no such thing.
Humans started wearing loincloth's that barely covered the genitals,  and women wore nothing on top.  So what is the big deal?
I personally am more attracted to women than men for one simple reason.....   I think men look very UGLY in the skulls and death motifs that seem very popular today as fabric patterns.   Even worse  is advertisement's for superhero's and movies, and product's.
I personally have a sexual thing, for true Scot's in kilt's.  I admire a man with great leg's and a bag to squeeze.
Just sayin,  with a bit of humor.   But honestly  I will never understand why people are so ignorant about gender-identifying clothes.........
Must be all the time I spent on nudist beaches.....   I stopped seeing genders in childhood,   and refuse to be a fashion bigot.
It isn't done much anymore in America, only because the women are so fat,  but  I love wearing 'minis'.   A grown woman wearing something only teens can still wear, is totally shocking to the FAT women who hate me wherever I go.
The fashion police are everywhere.....   So you better have a lot of courage,  and find a style that suit's you in some way,  as naturally as possible.   Dress like a woman and you better be prepared to be judged by them,   and expect men to make sexual advances towards you.    It can be an experience  you really are not ready for.
I suggest starting with gender neutral clothes.   Finding something like that would ease you into the woman's world.
Just my opinion...........      to an open question.  I live in a small town,  so day to day life is difficult when you share the same body style of a teen girl but you are also the most 'fit/slim' woman in the entire city.  Women are extremely judgmental when they become jealous of how someone can wear something they wish they could, but CANT.

I've seen pretty-men too, and I would never call them a 'sissy'.  Courage comes in all form's.
In English: Calling a man a 'sissy' is very offensive and could get a man killed in the wrong company/clan/gang/city.
No man is a sissy in my opinion, unless he disrespects true nature.....   Men should be bold and unique.
Women like me appreciate them  so much.
