Bebe92583- I commend you for realizing you were an unhealthy relationship and leaving it. A lot of women stay. I had a friend/Co-worker who was being abused by a thug of a boyfriend who oozed negativity. Another Co-worker and I suspected something was wrong when we caught her sleeping on the couch in the ladies room. She would say I have trouble sleeping, I went out last night..one morning she came to work with a hat on..When she took the hat off she a bleeding lump on her forehead when I asked her what happened? she said she fell. I asked into what? she said she fell and hit the corner of the table I asked did someone help you down? She said nothing like that. I said ok if you need something all you have to do is ask. After a few weeks she was better. Then one morning I was walking to the building and saw her in her car when I went up to the car she turned away from me and said she would be in a few minutes but me being pushy I made her look at me and her face was a one eye was swollen shut and the other eye was almost just as swollen I freaked out, I wanted to call 911 but she said not to. I told her that she had to go to the emergency room I took her and she told me what happened he had gotten drunk was banging her door she didn't want the neighbors to the police so she let him in. He thought she took so long to open the door because she had another guy there and beat her up..she also told me the knot on her head was the result of him hitting her in the head with beer bottle. I offered her a safe place to stay but she turned me down. She got pregnant and the guy beat her so bad the baby didn't make it. After a few more trips to the emergency room, him shaving off her pretty hair and getting pregnant again she disappeared. I thought he had killed her but a little while later her mom told me that she moved out of state. I was happy that she left be he killed her.

Physical 'perfection' is a cultural construct. In any case, it is ephemeral at best. Being sexy is a question of one's attitude and is very much an individual thing both for the perceiver and the perceived. There are people I am just more or less instantaneously, if not persistently, hot for. Maybe it's pheromones.
Men, I think, are far more visually oriented than women (although one can validly be attracted to external fitness characteristics). The problem with fitness characteristics is that they are changing very quickly in the modern world - probably too quickly for reasonable adaptation to different standards of attraction. Do we need big hunky guys if we live in a tamed urban environment? Probably not. Still... yummy. :-)
