trauma dump in 3…2…1 (also trigger warning for death)
I work in the er as a social worker and let me tell yall I had the most terrible absolute nightmare of a shift last night. without giving too much of my info out, it’s a trauma hospital so we have normal traumas that come in but they’re usually adults. I’ve also become pretty desensitized to those, just bc they happen so often. last night we had a baby. only a few months old. ended up passing away. I feel like I keep replaying the parents screaming. I need a pick me up or a margarita I can’t decide which one. sorry for the trauma dump!! might delete later idk

it’s definitely not my favorite job I’ve ever had and it is definitely the most traumatizing so far. I think today will be a rot in bed kind of day :-)

dear gosh. as someone who's been in the hospital off and on the last two months, i see you <3 I hope you know how much you are appreciated. a hospital is like a body and without all of the organs and the blood flow and etc, it just doesn't work as it should. Thank you for what you do :)!

Oh mbbybbby that’s awful, I’m so sorry. I’m sure you have a very empathetic nature, so a loss like this must cut especially deep. Grief work is hard because the grief is rooted in immense love, so it doesn’t go away. All you can do is be there, and you were. That is extremely important work.
