I just remembered there's a mediocre neckbeard programmer on the next semester and everyone treats him like he's a genius when, in fact, he's just mediocre at best and an asshole.
He threw his backpack across the college a bunch of times while yelling simply because things weren't going his way.
He caused a huge goddamn drama with a girl because she refused to facecam him as he had a crush on her and she had a boyfriend.
He literally tells women they live life on "easy mode" and defends the rights to own guns like it'll miraculously save his life next time someone invades his house, even after you exemplify to him how it was actually used more as a tool of oppression (like when my grandfather would threaten his own kids with a shotgun to force my grandma back to him) than an "act of heroism".
He literally objectifies real women in his art without their consent and complains about women not wanting him.
He's 40 year old.
God, the bar is really set underground for cishet men. I know I'm a terrible programmer, but the fact people treat him, who's also a terrible programmer, like a genius simply because he's a "tortured soul"? Fuck off

Honestly, don't push yourself too hard in that regard if you're like me.
I've become so critical of my own art that I barely finish anything by now and feel like bad critiques (as in, those who rate my art negatively) hit thrice as hard and doubt the good ones as a result
