my unsolicited 2 cents. this site is full of goth/emo baddies and to many people on here i am assuming the theme brings to mind my bloody valentine, megan fox in jennifers body, black widow spider type vibes. aesthetically a halloween in february type moment. i really don't think the people who voted for this are making the connection to real-world murder, it comes across as an edgy emo valentines day thing to me. what is occurring in lemona's country is horrific and i'm sorry you're reminded of the tragedies that have occurred but i do not believe this theme is inherently problematic. sorry if i'm coming across as rude or insensitive here that's not my intention.

To me who has goth subculture background this theme gives gothic vibe. I guess we all make relations and correspondences with things we are familiar with it. And no, I didn't vote either for this theme but for Heavy Metal Weirdos. Idk, maybe someone finds that theme offensive too, come on, it includes word 'weirdo', could be triggering maybe.

I just find it hypocritical blaming this theme while we already have so many bloody, gory and borderline sinister outfits, even in date/romantic looks. Are you all going to change now your outfits to confirm and conform to what you are saying here? I am sure you won't.

The point of posting you the poll was to inform you how it came to having that theme, since you are not familiar with it and wasn't playing while the voting was up and didn't have a chance to vote or comment your concerns earlier.

All theme suggestions that enter the poll are revised previously, offensive, unclear or repeating ones get discarded. If anyone posts any concern regarding any suggestion, PB, SMs and BP take it into account before making the final poll. No one posted or sent any concern regarding Bloody Valentine, no even players who suddenly found it gross, so it made its way to the poll and received the most votes.

The fact it received the most votes probably doesn't lie in that some psycho lovers killers voted for it. Most likely it was voted because it's February and Valentine day so it fits, but at the same time it's different than typical romantic and saccharine Valentine themes we had in past few years that became boring and repetitive.

Also as stated before, a lot of bimbos and himbos here have a background in emo and goth subcultures so this theme was appealing.

Blaming this theme now means blaming and calling out all players who actually voted for it and it is not really Ok. Next time when any of you have any concern regarding some there feel free to post it in public or to message PB, your SM or any of FGs (bimbo police). Such tirades afterwards are pointless and only make the person who suggested the theme and those who voted uncomfortable.

^^^^this, i didnt even connec thte dots initially but i was horrified to see the conneciton and i can't imagine how awful lemona must have felt seeing that sudden reminder of the actual irl terrors going on in real life. lemona, i'm truly sorry you have to deal with that. Idk if it's like "too late" now but may i offer a suggestion for a revision, instead of the "bloody valientine" being revenge becase of someone who rejected you maube its like revenge against someone who hurt their own lover or something idk. That way it can still be goth and edgy with the revenge themes but instead of somehing that evokes images of entitlement and objectivfication its a more "romantic" protective revenge thats more classic literature-y than domestic violence-y. (not that "classic" litearture isn't devoid of misogyny by ANY means but i'm thinking of like, achilles here. you get the gist.) This may be a horseshit solution so feel free 2 shot it down i'm jsut spitballing. But either way i second the argument taht this concern should be treated with sensitiveity and respect and not boiled down to like Problematic Discourse, this is about more than having fun on an internet site

Would also like to add that the person is a new player and doesn’t seem to have any gory outfits themselves. I don’t think it’d be proper to blame this issue on everyone else by saying we’d all have to change our outfits. Lemona just happened to join at a bad time and was presented with this situation, and we should be considerate of that because it can be hard to log into a fun game just to be reminded of the horrible things that happen irl. I won’t add anymore to this but I just want y’all to understand that it’s really not that hard to be a considerate person on this game, and I’m really sorry Lemona that you had to see something similar to your irl situation. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE EXPLANATIONS ABOUT THE THEME ETC

i am not policing anyone's choice of dressing up(even i dressed up for the theme), nor what they voted on. if you are not seeing gross news about women being killed because they rejected nearly every day, it is COMPLETELY NORMAL for you to think the theme is all fun and games. just because i got triggered does not mean the people who chose the theme are all bad, no i do not say that and would never say that. i am so happy that you think the theme is fun, even,
because that means you are not seeing any bad news every day.
i just simply said, "it does not sit right with me" and that it triggered me, that is all. i am not blaming anyone for anything, i would never.
if you like the theme, it is okay, i am glad you do.
but these are my thoughts and traumas that i want to share and my reason to share all this WAS NOT TO OFFEND ANYONE WHO CHOSE THE THEME AND/OR DRESSED UP. no, that was not what i meant.
as for the voting, i am new and did not see there was a voting. if i knew i would voice this earlier and kindly request the theme to be not used etc, but even then if people want it they can have it, it is their own right to do so. again, YOU ARE NOT BAD OR IGNORANT BECAUSE YOU LIKE THE THEME OR HAD VOTED FOR THE THEME.

please have fun and do not jump into conclusions that i am trying to police anything or blaming anyone. please bear with me and my thoughts. even if you don't agree with me please try to understand where i am coming from instead of blaming me and/or getting angry with me etc.

LillyAnn, there's no need to get so defensive. No one here is trying to say that you are a bad person if you voted for the theme. There's also no reason to inhibit calm discussions......................if people want to air out complaints, let them. Also, I don't understand why you're bringing up the fact that talking about it makes the people who suggested/voted for the theme uncomfortable. If this had been brought up in the voting period, there'd still be people might feel bad about voting for the theme? Uncomfortable feelings and discussions are a part of life and unless someone's being offensive, these discussions shouldn't be shut down.
