Love this! Thank you.
I did the a math aproximation but not as detailed as yours. But, yes. Also come to the conclusion that doing it in 50 moves requires not only 0% of errors but also loads of luck.

I think there should be a rethinking of the max moves that are allowed in order to win the different prices. Maybe make it a bit harder for a second price but a bit easier to won the first price? For example:

From 0 to 60 moves - 1st price
From 61 to 80 moves - 2nd price
From 81 to 100 moves - 3rd price
101 moves or more no price at all

I really sth like this would make much more sense.

i found mathematical paper on this so here is what i've learned. if i made any mistakes feel free to scream at me for leading poor bimbos astray in their educations. i am not a math expert.

so, even you play perfectly (ie, have a perfect memory and methodically flip tiles), you'd still take an average of 58 moves to win.
I say average because even then, it depends on the set up of the board before you begin playing. Depending on your luck, you'll actually take between 36 and 70 moves to win.
(click to see examples of lucky and unlucky boards)

most matches take 3 or 4 moves.
3 moves: you flip A and B (no match), then flip another A and match.
4 moves: you flip A and B (no match), flip C and A (no match), and then finally match the two As.

sometimes, you'll match in just 2 moves if you're lucky & match two tiles without knowing either tile beforehand.
The number of lucky matches like this per game is just about 0.7.

basically, you need to play like..... a LOT of optimal games to get lucky enough to get less than 50 moves.

Just use the wi-fi trick. Memory games are maybe fun the first time around and definitely not the 30th time. This way you get them "done" and "out of the way" as soon as possible.

Tried the wifi trick some days ago and worked. Tried today and does not work. It loads the game where I left it and does not reset the counter.

Does it still work for you?
