Not sure if it's available on Netflix (I don't have it right now) but I recommend Siren (2018) tv show. There's also a movie Siren (2016) but it's not about mermaids but about Lilith. I highly doubt that movie could be found on Netflix, just mentioned that to avoid the confusion since there are many Sirens out there :)

The Good Place is a classic. It's a goofy, heartfelt comedy about what happens after we die. it kind of ends up with an anticapitalist message. Derry girls has a similar brand of humor but is more realistic.
There's a bunch of John Mulaney specials on there if you like standup, he's really funny (though i haven't seen the newest one yet)
I personally love horror movies. some of my faves on netflix are crimson peak (from guillermo del toro, the visuals are absolutely beautiful), the old ways, his house, it follows, no one gets out alive (cool monster), the ritual (another cool monster), the thing 2011, the cloverfield paradox, and the platform
There are also good horror shows like the haunting of hill house, the haunting of bly manor, dorohedoro, and guillermo del toro's cabinet of curiosities
I wasn't expecting The Arcane to be as good as it was, i really enjoyed it. The Umbrella Academy is great too. Hope that helps :D

sex education is my favorite netflix show of all time! i recently rewatched it with my boyfriend, and he loved it too! to be honest, netflix isn't really my favorite streaming service anymore, but i can't get enough of hbomax, lol. they just seem to have such a better catalog than netflix, at this point.
