I hate that they exist tbh. They seem pointless and they're bad for the environment

Whenever I hear someone that buys NFTs talk about them they sound like they're in a pyramid scheme. Gonna start trying to sell me essential oils next ya know?

To say there is no point is a bit old fashioned in my opinion.
It's one of the best ways to support an Artist.

Even tho I get the concept and point of NFT, it is still far from my deeper comprehension, mostly because it is related to cryptos. And I don't sit to well with cryptos, so that's the cycle of thought.
It's hyped now, seems promising, but I am really curious for how long it's going to be that way. There are a lot of cheating in that sphere. It feels like it opened doors wide to various scammers and cheaters.
As long as it is good for artists it is awesome, but the growing group of versed scammers who are lurking around NFTs is kinda scary, at best!

I think the best way to support an artist would be to commission or donate directly to them rather than bother with crypto. A lot easier and more accessible to people and also since blockchain tech uses a lot power its better for the environment.

The concept of NFTs is kind of ridiculous to me because its proof of ownership. It's not so much about the artist's work but the crypto value it holds. If you want to buy a piece from an artist the better option imo is to just buy a print or something directly from the artist.

There’s a lot of better ways to support artists- plus within the NFT (and crypto) community there’s a lot of scamming, art thief, etc.
Unless you want to get involved in stock like stuff with a whole lot of risk, just commission artists, it’s not that hard.

NFTs sound to me like just copyrights, someone shouldn’t be allowed to use the stuff you NFT’d, because that person would get in trouble… but like, that’s why copyrights exist? Unless I’m not getting something and copyrights are not as strong as NFTs or something.

These various metaverses in making hyped NFTs even more, it seems to be closely related and that these two concepts support each other greatly even they can exist without each other.
NFTs are most likely not suitable for artists from various spheres, but for those involved in metaverse thing NFT thing seems reasonable atm.

They are not unreal, just virtual. And yes, it has to do with copyrights and stuff. It also gives a sense of exclusiveness. So far to me it looks like a modern way of collecting art. Like, in past someone had an original oil painting and kept it in safe while having reproduction on the wall. Today, instead of oil painting there is NFT and instead of physical safe the virtual one.
Aside of metaverses it's hard to me to imagine why would a single person collect NFTs unless it's the new wave of snobbism. But the world is a strange place :)
