honestly this behavior is worse than you would see on most subreddits, mods on reddit tend to be actual power-tripping control freaks who enforce the most bizarrely personal rules with lifetime bans. here we have mods with very little real power over who can or cannot post. our mods serve more as babysitters than overlords, which is both a positive and a negative, but definitely contributing to this problem. mods here used to be able to perma ban, but previous governments lost that power for us after abusing it during the cowboy gang trial
