edit: in the long term run we have to keep in mind, that there need to be enough fights open to vote on, to get our tokens.A last addition: If the build up happens again I can think of two ways for a solution: 1) temporary: repeat what was done now (but is a little confusing) 2) in the long run find the sweet spot in how many votes pay how many tokens without affecting other features (very complicated for reasons we can discuss somewhere else)

If you want people to vote on these fights/debates, INCREASE the payout, not cut it in half. It's a matter of incentive. Make it worth their timeNo, the problem then is, that you can also start double the fights/debates. The goal was to get the built up fights closed earlier (thus double voting) but leave the balance of tokens undisturbed (thus less tokens). The amount of tokens we were able to earn a day stayed the same. I thought it was a good solution but I also pointed out the consequences (too few fights after a while) days ago.
Unelegant fix to the back-log of fights/debates - set an internal limit (whatever that may be), and each time the week ends, delete the oldest that are over the limit and restore the starters' tokens.*shrug* might work... But I assume that is much more difficult to program than just changing the amount of anything. If we propose something it help to keep in mind if what we are asking is a minor fix or a whole new big deal for developers - just my experience.
