Labyrinth w Jim Henson and David Bowie is prob defo a cult classic in a way but I need it to be talked about more
Omg Labyrinth is my all time favorite movie ever!! My dad showed it to me when i was 4 and ever since i've been in love with Jareth the Goblin King and Bowie. I plan on getting the little worm tattooed on me in a couple of months
mirrormask, it’s an incredibly artsy movie which isn’t for everyone but honestly the setup and stuff reminds me of coraline or labyrinth. main girl who is unhappy with her life and gets stuck in another place that feels like a dream, trying to find her way back to reality. i really loved a lot of the art direction in that movie even if some of the effects r pretty cheesy it gives it charm.
The Devil Wears Prada!
BURIED for sure. It's about a courier guy (played by Ryan Reynolds), who is sent to Iraq to deliver military stuffs (i guess), have been captured and buried alive in the coffin by terrorists because they thought he is one of the American soldier. Using only a few items in his pocket (cellphone, lighter, etc) to survive until help arrive. On top of that, he also need to ration his oxygen, fight his anxiety, negotiate with the terrorist and the government to help him. I'm not shitting you when i say that 98% of the movie take place in that very coffin. Yes, even the negotiation scene with the terrorist and the government were done through the cellphone. I know what you're saying, "Oh but how is that interesting? The whole movie is basically us trapped in a coffin". Yes, you are right, but the acting, the high stake, the consequence and the fact that we sympathized with Ryan's character being wrongfully buried made it sooo intense. When i watch it, it feels like i was there trapped with him. This movie has literally no beautiful scenery, jam-packed action scene or sweet love story. Only suspense and anxiety from start to finish. You need to focus and immerse yourself into the movie to really enjoy it. Once you do that, you'll experience what i felt. Give it a try and let me know <3

Tart 2001, its basically this rich private school girl being depressed about how much her life sucks and they end up murdering somone in the woods. Also Daises 1966, its a feminist film where two girls act mischiveously (spelling??) and steel magnolias 1989, a touching story about 6 women solving problems together and taking care of shelby, a diabetic girl who wants to have kids.
One of my favourite movies- though rather or not it is underrated is up for debate- but edward scissorhands is my all time fav film! Plus, it stars Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp; what is not to like? x

I don't even know how to explain my feelings about it. It's about a man that tricks his estranged (and odd) family into thinking he's dying to get them back together.

Absolute masterpiece. It's the story of two lovers in the 60s and how one misunderstanding causes everything to fall apart. Plus, it has Kimbra in it lol
The Family Stone
Pretty decent Christmas movie with a ton of representation. Actual plot is a bit iffy, but has some good actors. It's about guy bringing his girlfriend home for christmas, but she is super different from his family, so there's a good amount of awkward tension.
Welcome To The Dollhouse
I love and hate how realistic this movie is. A young girl is in middle school and is a total outcast with a shitty family
Drop Dead Gorgeous
Such a funny movie. A mockumentary about a beauty contest in a small town.

A pretty sweet film. A French movie about a guy(?) entering a Miss France contest as a woman
Edge Of Seventeen
I hate the girl in this movie lol. (Also not to be confused with The Edge of Seventeen). A young man explores his gender and sexuality in the 1980s of America
