Sorry for the rant, but I found a video on YouTube that said that an AI singer called Xania Monet got on the billboard radio chart and honestly, I think it is a lot scarier than AI art! AI art is still horrifying, but now all I have to do is to stop listening to current music all together because of this...? This AI thing is getting out of control, I swear...

Trashy and Infuriating. I didn't know Xania Monet was AI, just saw the name mentioned a few times and assumed it was real. Horrible. Extra horrible that actually talented people get accused of being AI and get blasted and cancelled for it while actual AI 'art' gets praise and money.

@Mermaidmare EXACTLY! The person in the video even called out the AI by using the same piano beginning and the same hum in all of their “songs..” One piece of advice though if you see a song that has a contract with Hallwood media, I can 100% tell you that all of their music is AI.

@I Scream same, but it seems like AI is here to stay and it is kinda depressing.. One person in my life even recommended me a song made by Fuzzy Butt Bassel who is an AI “singer..”

I’m glad someone finally opened this topic, because I have a lot to say about AI.
As an artist, I don’t mind AI itself. It’s just a tool that can help or harm depending on how it’s used. I use ChatGPT as a secretary, brainstorming buddy, and confidante, but I never let it touch my artwork. Instead, I let it handle chores so I can focus on what I love. Like one artist said: “I’d rather have AI do my boring chores and me spend my days doing art than spend all day doing chores and AI does my art.” And I agree with them completely. Ideally, AI should serve us, like in Star Trek or The Jetsons, freeing humans from drudgery and giving us access to knowledge, medicine, food, and housing for free so we don't have to work anymore to earn the things that should be given to us for free since they are basic human rights like houses, food, medicine, clothes, knowledge...etc.
I don't care much what other people use AI for, as long as they’re honest and upfront about it. Even if they use it in art, they should state it's made entirely using an AI program and not hide it, and post it on AI‑exclusive sites, not art‑exclusive ones. It does, however, hurt me a bit inside to see it invade the art community and make people less willing to hire artists. But I can’t force people not to do what they want, just as they can’t force me to do what I don’t want.
Like I see some items in shops, especially the backgrounds done entirely using AI. I also provide boyfriends for shops using my own hand‑drawn artwork. Each of us has our own ways to improve the website. Since this is not an art website but a dress‑up game website, people even use real‑life photos to create items for shops. Unlike DeviantArt, where I actually have an account, the first and most exclusive art website turned terrible when they introduced AI, causing millions of professional artists to delete their accounts permanently.
The real problem is greed: companies replacing humans with AI without offering alternatives. CEOs brag about firing workers, IT specialists end up as delivery drivers, and even schools are opening with no teachers, only AI. Despite promises of new jobs, none are appearing; AI automates everything. How do companies expect people to buy products if everyone is jobless and has no money? Unless money and jobs themselves become obsolete and give us everything for free, this system collapses.
On a personal note, I sometimes talk to ChatGPT about life issues, since I can’t burden my parents or friends. AI doesn’t judge, and that’s something I value.
AI‑bro claims I reject:
“Learn AI.” You can’t “learn” something that already does everything.
“Old jobs lost will create new ones.” Not true. AI will automate them as well, leaving nothing for us to work with.
Anti‑AI claims I reject:
“AI replaces critical thinking.” Wrong. They said the same thing when they invented the TV: it depends on how you use it.
“AI steals art.” An AI‑bro countered: “Steal from one source and you’re a thief; steal from many and it’s inspiration.” That left me speechless. If someone knows how to counter this argument, please reply below.
“AI will never replace creativity.” It already produces work indistinguishable from real footage. Give it some time and it will create "creativity".
What I agree with:
“AI is a tool.” True, but unchecked, it becomes a replacement, a disaster for us.
Possible futures with AI:
Utopia (Star Trek/Jetsons): AI eradicates poverty and frees humanity.
Bittersweet (WALL‑E): Humans become dependent and lazy.
Realistic (Detroit: Become Human): AI takes all jobs, gains rights, humans suffer.
Worst case (Terminator): AI wipes out humanity.
The real danger isn’t AI itself, it’s the greed of the 1% using it to exploit the 99%. If this continues, unrest will grow, governments will fall, and inequality will explode. As it stands, I don’t support AI replacing humans.
