It depends on the level of betrayal if I would forgive you or not. I am forgiving by nature and know it's unhealthy to hold a grudge. But most of the times someone who betrays me is no longer a part of my life even if I forgive you.
One thing I am sure of though, forgiving someone is hard but it brightens your heart and in the long term makes you a happier better person.

I completely agree with sandi. I will forgive but that doesnt mean I will keep that person in my life anymore.
'Accidents' happen. It's good to stay calm and try to forgive and understand the other part. But never after the second betrayal.
I would forgive, but would not forget. If it's a boyfriend, for example, we could still be friends. If it's a friend, I would still be in touch, but would not trust him/her anymore.

Robbed by friend's, so many time's I cannot even put a number to the amount of theft that has occurred because a trusted friend brought a criminal into my home during a party..
This is a betrayal of TRUST.
When one person is invited, it doesn't mean they are allowed to bring uninvited-> Thieves into my HOME TOO.
It is a disaster, having friend's who are Poor and totally Ignorant.......
But that is the current American Nation of Welfare and drug addict's.
I don't take drugs, but not a single FEMALE I know is also drug free...... Prescription Methamphetamine is the new diet in America. The drug causes people to 'NOT THINK' in any long term manner.....
So Stealing and theft is simple...... Just bring a friend along to rob me, while I'm distracted.
The funny thing about it is: How much MORE they could have received in gift's if the BETRAYAL wasn't so Obvious.

I had to close my home to all visitor's............. I discovered, I couldn't even trust my closest friend's..........

I have firearm's in my home....... I cannot allow them to be stolen by drug abuser's......... It's that Simple for me.
I still wonder to this day : Where did my 25 caliber pistol went after it ran away from HOME? [in the pocket of a stranger]
Or maybe I don't want to KNOW.
ONE TIME was enough for me....... Men in my house are currently forever BANNED.
I just cannot take the risk.........and mental anguish. The man-child who stole the Gun is most likely dead by now............
A pitiful end, to a pitiful LIFE as a thief . He didn't even bother with stealing a reliable weapon..... He picked out the most failed weapon I used to own. It was simply my door 'piece' hidden under a couch. Total garbage as a weapon and I don't worry that it was stolen from me to much, but..... the bigger picture is............ > Why did a man STEAL my GUN in the first place?.

Criminal's have a HOME in dirt and rocks........
I only saw the' thief' one time..... and he was GONE..... In a small town news travel's fast........ Nobody was reported as missing....... and so NOBODY cared he was GONE. It was as if he never existed at all.
A very sad ending to a story of betrayal, but it is what it is.
