Thalassophobia is the fear of bodies of water that seem vast, dark, deep, and dangerous.

People are not afraid of the water so much as they are afraid of what lurks beneath its surface.

When I was younger I used to go to the beach a lot with my cousins, one time I cut the whole of my leg up in a rock pool and since then I haven’t felt comfortable being near the sea or lakes/rivers that look very deep.

Thalassophobia - Fear of the Sea
I've been afraid of large bodies of water ever since I was a kid, and I figured what better way to represent the frightening deep depths of the ocean than dressing up as a deadly mermaid?

I'm anatidaephobiathe fear of being observed by ducks, so I'm a duck observing you.
Some say it's not a real phobia, but that's up to you because you believing or not duck society already knows you're not a believer... they've hacked your cellphone in case you don't know, have access to your bank account and your internet history.

Poison Black

When I was a teenager, I seek acceptance very hard, and in order to achieve that, I gave up so much for myself that I can't recognize who I am anymore. I believe that no one would love me for who I am and wish so hard to be anyone else, but me, in order to blend in and feel like I belong somewhere. I fought hard to get out of this dark place and I got it. I'm still learning about myself and learning how to love who I am. My worse fear is loose my identity again, don't be able to recognize myself anymore, became hollow again.

Fear of Vulnerability
The phrase "opening up" sounds pleasant. It brings to mind petals of a flower unfurling, or arms spreading from the chest to embrace another soul. But the act of "opening up" is much more painful. It's years of hard shell being hammered away, leaving your soft, naked flesh exposed to the sun. It's your ribs cracking apart as a probing hand grasps your little heart. It's curling in on yourself, devolving into a child, a fetus of yourself. You could be eaten alive, dejected or abused, or even worse- forced into the agony of love.

I was raised in a very strict Christian home where the women were to "honor and obey" their husbands as well at pop out as many children as humanly possible. I was disowned when I refused to comply to their standards.  So my fear has always been in the conforming to others expectations. It would have been a living nightmare if I had.

Phasmophobia, the fear of ghosts and the supernatural/paranormal

I've always been a woman of science and reason, so I technically don't believe in ghosts or anything vaguely paranormal because their existence doesn't make sense to me based on the scientific laws of biology, chemistry, physics, etc. But I do sometimes watch shows about paranormal investigators and ghosts and such, and if I'm gonna be totally honest with myself, I'm pretty sure I would be terrified experiencing those situations. People are really attracted to this idea that ghosts, spirits, and other paranormal phenomena are dangerous and malevolent toward living humans. And I wonder if I were to go to a known haunted house if I would hear and see phenomena that aren't real because of some neurochemical or psychosomatic response from anticipation, or if I would see and hear those things because they're actually real. I don't doubt people's accounts or experiences with paranormal phenomena, because in some way or another, their brain experienced something that felt real or was real. But would my own disbelief in the paranormal shield me from fear? I don't know.

So my biggest fear is death. Not only mine, but I'm really afraid that someday something bad might happen to the people I love.

Ophidiophobia - Fear of snakes
I've not always been afraid of snakes. However now I'm so afraid of them, that if they are shown on tv i need people to tell me when they are gone again.. (Can't even listen people talk about them without getting goosebumps and curling my legs up under me - I'm NOT gonna touch that floor for some time!) The only one I tolerate is the Basilisk in Harry Potter..
