On the old Miss Bimbo Corazie ran a book club.well from reading through the interests here in  the Hellooooooooooooooooo topic there are a wide variety of interests in reading and other topics why not start a few groups and see what happens? or if your;e really bored you could throw darts at me for throwing my hat in the ring for making a suggestion such as this.:D Since to be honest cool things such as levels, goal ,and careers etc probably wont be added until a new prime bimbo is elected since blighty is currently running the day to day aspect of the forum. I believe after the election things we want will be added since Chris and Company will be  returning to the technology side and away from the forum itself..

even though the site is a work in progress ie forum and debates only I have noticed the one serious topic has been debated without a lot of fighting and nastiness it goes to show that people don't need harsh rules and gags to  have productive interesting discussions on controversial topics. so why not have group s such as bookworms, cooking club etc?

As of late, I haven't had much time for books, because of all the 'modern' distractions in the world.
There is a book directly next to my desk I read for a break now and then.    Get this for a title:
The Lost Fleet, Beyond the Frontier Dreadnaught, by Jack Campbell.

I picked it up from a Book Bin for $1 USD as a hard cover novel.  It has been a very interesting story  however.  I have a habit of taking it with me to Chinese buffet lunch.  Read a page, get shrimp. Read another get chicken. Read another and sip tea. Read another and eat some strange cookies I seem to love.

Books are a dieing breed, in the world with internet on every phone.  I still like to turn a page of paper though.  Often I find myself reading lines twice though, because of all of the details, that you can't find during internet 'skim' reading.  Sure there is books on-line too, and I make use of them, when it is a historical book you can't find in print.    It just doesn't 'feel' the same to me, to not hold it in my hands.

My sons actually introduced me to what I consider the best books ever written, when they were 11 and 13 years old respectively.  I would beg them to check them out of the school library for me as soon as I finished a book.  There was 13 of them. The first I found in my sons 'kit' after he returned from school one day.  He told me that they had to check out a library book.  He had no intention of reading it and just picked out any book of the shelf...
(at least he was honest with me)  When I saw the title,  I as a parent had to read the first page. Then the second, and it became an obsession from that point onward.

' A Series of Unfortunate Events'

The worst books I ever read, and the best, I ever enjoyed.  They were purely a disaster, and absolutely beautiful at the same time. and I highly recommend them if your interested in......  ? writing in misery.
I absorbed them, even though I hated every second, I had to turn the page to another unfortunate event.
( wrote that review in the authors style )
That series of Novels had an impact on me and how I communicate with the written word.
Insanely Brilliant.....
No,
Just foolishly reading an annoying amount of 13 books because I got HOOKED.  My oldest son actually gave me the 13th book as a Christmas gift, he bought himself.
It's title. 'The End' and I was relieved.  Both the best and the worst books I've ever desired to read came from a middle-school library, hand delivered by my own Children.
It's strange to think about the power of books in a modern era.  It makes me want to cry for the loss. Children might never know the joy a book can give. It just is not taught anymore.

i also just read a book about hitler... more about his ideas he wrote in his book "mein kampf" (my struggle ?) and how people and struktures in germany are still influenced by this ideas. the book is called "der adolf in mir" ( the adolf in me ?) and written by a german turk who did over 1500 bookreadings of "mein kampf" in the 90th and early 00 and worked with the reactions of his, really diverse, audience.
it is a really interesting book! ...but also a bit scary

I'm trying to get a hold on that book. I think it will be something very interesting to read. I actually saw one being sold and my dad "Don't touch it" and my answer was  "Why? You think I'm gonna catch something? Just because I love Lolita it doesn't mean I like young girls".
Right now I'm discovering Ferrante.

I'm a voracious book reader and always looking for recommendations, unfortunately, I moved from my home country and I haven't mastered the language here yet so I haven't been able to find much books in English to read. I love fantasy, paranormal, and science fiction the most but will read almost anything except horror and nonfiction.

You could always try Amazon, you can buy kindle books. Although I prefer paper books. If you like fiction perhaps you could read something by  Margaret Atwood
