The species name is Peruphasma schultei and they were discovered in Peru in 2015, they live in an area that's only 5 hectare big, the males grow to be 5cm and the females 7cm, they have glands behind their eyes that can secrete an irritating chemical that will irritate your nose and eyes for a few seconds, they reproduce sexually and will begin mating pretty much the moment they're mature, they will drop eggs periodically while mating, sometimes the female will run and the male won't be able to hold on and just gets dragged behind her and it makes me terribly afraid he's going to get his tiny insect dick ripped off or break off his entire ass because sometimes he'll get twisted around but it always turns out fine in the end
They will also shit literally everywhere be prepared to clean their enclosure at least once a week if you're not keeping them on soil with spring tails

Thakn you for making this thread I can finally run free. @plushklavier I LOVE THE BITCHTIT BRIGADE SO MUCH I COUDL BAWL.....they are so freaking CUTE their tiny tiny wings are so precious. I love them i love them i love them. QUEENS all of them. Their pseudopupils are so cute too thats like my favorite kind of Bug Eyes. THey look a little like katydids in taht respect just some little cartoon dudes
THose adorable stick bugs wings are giving them a serious run for hteir money but my favorite INsect Wings are earwig wings. Earwigs pretty much evolved in teh same direction as ferrets where they are as Long and Flexible as possible so that they may twist and turn around in all the tunnels, but wingcases tend to be hard and not very flexible or well suited to the Twisty Turny lifestyle. But wings are cool and useful so what is an earwig to do!! WHELL the earwig's workaroudn for this is to have the tiniest little elytra imaginable so that the rest of the body is twisty and turny, but also have hugelarge wings that they fold into it a million billion times so that it still fits in there natch
Which results in just about the most BEAUTFUUL origami wings youve ever seen. UNfortaunely the 100+ folds are mildly inconvenient so earwigs dont show them off much, in an emergency they SPROING out and unfold all at once for a quick getaway but it's very hard to fold abck up (they gotta use their tails to push it back in) so its a littel tedious. But they are so beautiful that its worth it. (Earwigs are also adorably doting mothers and will protext their babies well after they hatch and even chew up food for them to eat. They are the true MILFs (mothers i love forever) of the insect comuntity)

oooh hello bug thread! my favourite bug (other than the ones i posted in let's be real) are the giant prickly stick insect (or Extatosoma tiaratum)! 
Arapuá (Trigona spinipes), they're fluffy, they're stingerless, they're angry, and they're bees. What not to love?

Oh, another fun fact about Arapuás: they can use dead carcasses and generally unusual materials to make their nests because of fucking course they're that metal, and they can hunt other bee nests to scavenge for food because we dem pirate metal bois
