I went for the steampunk-ish vibe and Alice spin off.

Contemporary bimbo Alice travels through time and various inexplicable wonderlands. She is carrying the worn out suitcase and ragged bunny, her favorite childhood plushy she considered her friend. Somewhere down the road on her journey she stumbled upon a grumpy gnome warlock at the very edges of Steampunk-land. Gnome warlock secretly declared a war to Steampunkland because he hates steam, machines and technology.

His only weapon in this war is ancient gnomish elemental magic but he can't do everything alone. He needs an agent and Alice came out to be the perfect one. Or just the only one... So she became his most valuable asset without realizing it. Of course it comes with the cost, at her end for sure.

Snarky and sneaky gnome tricked her to accept his gift. He asked her to move a rock so he can get the glowing plant for his new potion. Once someone does a favor to a gnome they are bound to accept the gift. As you can guess, this gift was sort of malicious, weird at best. He threw the magic glowing pollen to her face, said 'Good luck, we will meet again' with a suspicious laugh and just disappeared, or turned into a green mushroom. That's the last thing she saw and remembered before almost instantly falling to sleep and having the most beautiful, weird and vivid dream she ever had on her entire journey.

Upon waking up she found herself at a different place at a different time. There was steam and fog all around with a roaring mechanic sounds. Something that resembles a green mushroom was still there but most certainly it wasn't the real mushroom. That was a small lantern, angular but in the shape of a mushroom next to the bench at the train station that shined neon-like green light.

She felt completely lost, confused with the weirdest buzzing in her ears causing dizziness and started to cry. Suddenly the ragged bunny spoke up. It didn't help the issue, the old childhood toy had never done that before. Its voice was strange. It sounded like the mix of her own voice and gnome's sinister laugh with the looong strange echo. In particular moments it felt like the voice in her head, like her own thoughts that just got loud and adopted a sound. Other times she could clearly see it was coming out from the bunny toy. She was unsure what was the dream and what was the reality or was it all her imagination going wilder than usual. If there were both the dream and the reality where is the line between these two? At what point one ends and another begins? And what about the gnome? Was he really there before she fell asleep or was it all one long, vivid and very strange dream.

The talking ragged toy explained briefly - they were back in time at the very beginning of Steampunk-land. There wasn't a lot of organized society and cities yet. That was the beginning of what is yet to come in the future. The railroad, train-station, a few streets with dimmed lights and a couple of temporary buildings covered in steam and the sound of metal friction.

Slowly she came to comprehension that she got stuck in the past of one of many lands and her bunny toy became somewhat creepy and unusual. The plushy is possessed. It made its own personality that got mixed with the gnome warlock's personality. At the moment it is her only friend, companion and guide. There is ragged rabbit guidance, but where will it lead her next?
