I have to walk up and down 2 flights of stairs 2x a day to get my food on campus and my ass has gotten PHAT so stairs work!!

Yes but its hard to do it JUST with normal squats; its best to find a routine of multiple squat variants AND other ass, hip, thigh, and leg workouts (a few examples I like are Fire hydrants, Donkey kicks, Goodmornings, Sideways squats, Froggy/Sumo squats, Jump squats, Butt bridges, etc). Also once you get used to a certain routine and you don't get as tired/ sore after than you should either add more exercises to the routine OR do more reps for the exercises you already do. Variety helps you not get bored of your workouts.
