anyone here in school hs/college and getting ready for exams? got any study tips, or just want to vent about it? i've been studying for 2 days and still not feeling confident ):

Not to discourage you, but I think the reason might be, that you are studying wrong, as over 90% of people do. Most start studying when exams arrive. The most important thing is, to get information past the short term memory into the long term memory and that needs more time and many many repetitions. General tipps: Study regularly. Have breaks. Understand concepts behind the facts (far more easy to remember). What you can do now that you are in a hurry: Try to make a cheat sheet. Do not use it in the exams, that can get you in real trouble. But preparing one at home you will condense the information you really need to remember more and more. - thus working on the concetualizing :)

1st tip would be to not put so much pressure on yourself, you'll only clam up and not focus on the content and will just be focus about worrying.2nd would be to just think confidently, you've done the work in the classes and you are so smart, you can do this. 3rd would be to keep your head up and just stick to the grind, it may seem like you're not doing anything, but in actuality, you're achieving so much and retaining so much informationGood luck on your exams, you'll do amazing hun! xo

I have no idea which subject you're studying but I know, from personal experience, that examples and small notes next to each thing you don't understand will make it way more easier. Also, if there is something you don't understand (like a concept, word, expression, fact, anything), just look it up. Long ago I used to skip on these thinking they don't matter anyway but I was very wrong. Understand every small thing and you will have no problem with the big one in the end.

If you have any pre exams they are often harder than your actual exams yet contain very similar questions.

And remember, these results are temporary for most people. In Ireland, we are 18 at the college entry exams but at 23, we can enroll in anything we want! Which is perfect as at 18 i still had a lot of growing up to do but at 23 I went back to college to study exactly what I wanted to do at 18, just a little more grown up :)

One strategy that helps me is going back through notes I've taken on readings or in class and summarizing them! After that, you can streamline the summaries/main ideas into a chart, mind map, flash cards, or any other method that helps you quickly reference and retain that knowledge. You've got this!
