I would definitely recommend it!!! When I first started, I got a set of crochet hooks from Michaels on black friday for I think less than 15 dollars, and a few skeins of yarn as well. If you do decide to learn, I would recommend trying a relatively simple pattern but something that you will actually use (I made myself a dice bag using this tutorial: https://youtu.be/PR8u34ks6Ek). You could make something like a scarf, a bandana, I think a balaclava would probably be easy though I haven't made one myself, a beanie is also a good first project (specifically, a cat ear beanie, as it is just a rectangle worked in the round). And, if you do start crocheting, I would always love to help or discuss with you! It's become my favorite hobby and I love to talk about it lol

For beginner crochet projects, I would recommend something that you will actually use and are excited about. I followed this video [link] to make myself a little drawstring pouch to hold all of my polyhedral dice as my very first project. I think other good beginner projects are beanies, I did a handful of those as well :) If you do get around to making your first crochet project, please post pictues! I would love to see :DD

idk if they count as handcrafts, but I like doing little repaints/modifications to stuff like repainting a doll's face, adding designs to a water bottle, etc. One time I made a set of runes for divination using vase marble things lol
I also like using polymer clay sometimes! The most recent things I've made are an incense stick holder & the Seal of Metatron from Silent Hill 3 (and SH1 technically, I used the symbol design from that game instead of SH3)
