Generally curious, everyone on this site seems so nice and kinda have to wonder if anyone had any unfortunate encounters. Don't need to share details or anything, of course. Just as I said I'm curious
have you ever had to block anyone on here?

Yes I blocked 1 person who blocked me after they asked me for help and I helped them. Then they blocked me (which was really weird obviously) so I blocked her back. Another person blocked me for no reason, I never interacted with her. So I blocked her back.
And today someone in the forum was being a childish bitch so I blocked her. There are some others who I maybe should block, but they don't bother me anymore. So I don't bother really.
I once did block a person though because I was certain they hated my guts because of the way they talked to me. But when I blocked them, they let me know that they were actually hurt by that and that they did like me. Which was a total surprise to me, but I unblocked them of course. It wasn't my intention to hurt them. I just thought it would be the best thing for both of us. That person and me never interacted with each other after that.
But it shows you should think carefully before you block someone. They might actually feel hurt by that and that is not what the block feature is for :)

Yes, I have blocked a handful of players here. I would've preferred not to do so, but circumstances made it a necessary move to make. Blocking is not something I take lightly, things have to have gone pretty far before I even consider blocking anyone, and I always warn the players in question before I block them.

But people do block others here for the weirdest reasons like not voting for them / challenging them and for no reason at all.

Thanks Ulvhild :) I voted for no because my silly blocking wasn't an actual blocking as I explained it in my previous post. It will be interesting to see the results :)
I've never felt the need to block anyone. I was blocked once by a user I didn't recognize but they unblocked me a few days later. Not sure what that was about. My best guess is they were just trying to game the voting system by blocking people who were voting against them in debates and fights.

I don't block people, I find the feature pointless, because even though it stops you from being able to interact with a user on a private level, you can still view all of their activity, and can still choose to talk to them on the forum. It's basically another half-baked feature that was never thought through and then never corrected when users pointed out it's inefficiencies. I have a thick enough skin that I can take whatever someone throws my way, so I've never felt threatened enough to use it, but I've seen people abuse this feature simply because they didn't like being voted against in fights/debates.

no but something that's funny is when my friend got into a fight with someone they immediately blocked him on here like first thing and i just think it's hilarious. priorities
