I've had a couple people ask me about how to use images, gifs, bold text, and italicized text in debates, so I thought I should make a little guide on how to make your debates stand out just a little bit more!
First, an example of this in action:
How to do this:
The debate text box doesn't have buttons for the features we need like the forums or comments do, so we're going to need to get creative! If you've ever use HTML before, you're going to be a pro at this.
Images/GIFs:
For pictures, we're going to use the HTML img tag. Basically just copy and paste the code below into your debate:
Bold/Italics/Underline:
Here we're going to use the <b>, <i>, and <u> HTML tags! I'll go through this quicker since you're already an expert from the previous section :)
It's important to include the closing tags (the ones at the end with the slash / ) so that your text styling doesn't bleed over into your challenger's debate.
(Bonus) Line Breaks:
Using a <br> tag produces a line break in your debate, similar to pressing enter. This can help with further formatting your debates! I use this in my debates to put images on a separate line below my text.
Lastly, doing this in your debates shouldn't be breaking any rules as other HTML tags that I've tested don't seem to work (ex. audio), so images and basic text formatting seem to have been explicitly enabled.
And that's it! If you want to test if your debates are looking how you want them, simply start a debate with another user (I'm open to debates :D)
