I've had some time to think about this and I think the issue with this is that if you change the name, you're likely going to alienate a lot of your userbase. Some people will probably leave, and the name is a BIG draw for new people. Changing it will mean less people coming in, most likely. The name Bimboland draws the eye, gets people curious. Changing it will get rid of that draw.
If you have less users on site, and less people coming in, you're going to be less appealing to investors. An inactive site isn't exactly good for business. If you're set on this decision, so be it, but I think it's best to find investors that will work within the parameters set right now.

Changing the domain name in this way would not change anything about the site itself, which I'm fairly certain is the main issue. Surely Team Bimbo doesn't believe that the only thing making this site unattractive to advertisers and investors is the name? Could you explain the thought process behind this?

I think what draws in a lot of the players is the adult version of the dress up games we all used to play as kids. It makes us feel simultaneously like a kid again and a grown badass bitch lol. So I hope the game doesn't go through much more sanitization :(
