@misogynist  I am sorry if I hurt your feelings in any way. I didn't fully understand the kinds of themes that are allowed on the site. I know your contest will mean a lot for the LGBT community.

Is cishet a derogatory term? I thought it was someone who identifies with their gender i guess the way society intended and they're heterosexual. Am I misunderstanding the term?

you havent hurt my feelings, i would just like you to understand why this is so important to myself and others. i feel i am allowed to be reasonably angry people not part of the community are at odds with me about how i have chosen to host this community contest. we would all just like a place to feel seen and appreciated by our peers without the scrutiny of people who are not lgbt, or who do not claim to be lgbt. please, if youd like to participate in the pride parade thread do so. but understand that by attempting to participate in the contest instead you would potentially be taking chances away from lgbt to recieve a prize. this is exactly why i was against the pride themed PBFC suggestion, i do not want to reward allies for simply being what they should be - supportive of us as people. i would not like to dish out prizes to allies for putting on our colors, i would like to reward our community. i really hope this makes sense. and i also sincerely apologize, i hope you are able to find a label you are comfortable with and accept yourself.

please stop saying shit like this, you arent helping the situation.

@channing cishet is not a derogatory term and you are understanding it correctly, it just means a heterosexual person who identifies with their assigned gender at birth.

In summary, the LGBT Pride contest is a contest for LGBT people. Its purpose is to uplift members of the LGBT community.

The Bimboland Pride Parade is a celebration of the LGBT community, and specifically invites the community and its allies to celebrate. Which you are welcome to, just like Misogynist said. Anyone who considers themselves an ally and is capable of being respectful is.

“If i created a Bimbo/Female empowerment contest only for bimbos and himbos were not allowed to enter, would that be okay?”

literally yes LMAO? you’re trying to use this as a ‘gotcha’ but literally a woman empowerment contest should be for women the same way an LGBT contest should be for LGBT people.. it’s simple logic...

Everyone before me has already said this, but yes it is acceptable to hold contests that exclude a certain demographic, they don't happen only on Bimboland but they happen in real life as well

I see contests all the time that appeal to me, but then the contest rules say they won't ship the prize to people outside of the USA (I live in Europe), which sucks but what can I do about it? Clearly this contest was meant for USA citizens

And what about coloring contests? I would so love to enter a coloring contest again like when I was younger, but a lot of coloring contests cap the maximum age at 11-12, again, nothing I can do about it, I can't reverse my aging

See a contest about a band I know nothing about but has cool band merch as the prize? Still not a contest meant for me, as I would have to be an invested fan to be able to participate, sure I could look up information about the band and try my hand at winning, but trying to get merch of a band I'm not actually interested in just because it looks neat would rob a legitimate fan of the band at the chance of having something that is actually dear to them

Hosting a contest for LGBT people only is the same thing, it's meant for a specific demographic only and there's nothing wrong with that, especially since it's such a common practice, there are a ton of contests everywhere that are specifically only for people who live in a certain place, are of a certain race, nationality, identity, religion, age, have a disability, illness, have a certain skill (art, music, math, etc.), or are just a fan of something specific, even within the LGBT community itself there will be contests not every member of the community can participate in as the contest may be focused on people's experiences being trans or for LGBT people who have a physical disability, just to name something, and all of that is completely fine to do as there will be enough contests around for everyone else to participate in, for every contest you can't participate in there will most likely be at least 5 more other contests you are eligible to enter

I hope this offers some insight and help you not feel discriminated against, it is a common practice everywhere and there will be plenty of other contests you can join :)

I wish you the best in figuring out your identity <3 I know it took me my entire teens to figure it out
(Maybe you can make a contest for people who are questioning their identities, that would be a fun and interesting contest to see!)

i know you mean well plushklavier but i don’t think comparing LGBT ppl holding an LGBT only pride contest to a kid’s coloring contest or band merch stuff is a fair and accurate comparison. logically it adds up, yes, but it disregards the nuance of LGBT history. because a cishet only contest would not be okay, but a LGBT only contest is because of the power dynamic between those two groups. never has there been a time in history where cishet people were systemically oppressed, unlike LGBT people who continue to face issues today. again, totally understand where you were coming from but it’s important not to skip over that very, very important factor.
