reviving this because I have a lot to say. I understand that women need a space to vent their issues and that she can be that space for a lot of people, but the way that she paints herself as this "ultimate glamorous tragic woman" is very strange to me. she makes all these songs about relationships that aren't necessarily the greatest with no hint that she isn't promoting them but turns around and says she's not glamorizing them? she needs to understand that the people listening to her most likely already have issues with relationships and the way she sings about them isn't helping, as well as the fact that her style fits right into lolita (book) romanticization. there's nothing romantic about an old man trying to justify his pedophilia for a prepubescent girl, and her using lines of him TALKING ABOUT said girl in her romance songs is not okay. she also has 'called out' multiple WOC for being sexually liberated in what she thinks is a 'trashy way' while saying "why aren't I praised? why can fka twigs dance on a stripper pole but I can't?" she has also dressed in stereotypical fashion of mexican women (while doing said pole dancing) and has worn a native american headdress in her music videos. a bunch of other stuff with a mesh mask and promoting herself as 'the only genuine artist' blah blah, but yeah. she's not a good person and it's very unfortunate that she's a good singer. stream the original don' time because bradley's voice just fits the song meaning overall and vibe so much better.

also her old americana style is both very upsetting to me but also very fitting. I love classic americana style and the fact that she's taken it over makes me sad, but oh well. that's what I have true rockabilly and actual 50s artists for. stream the horrorpops and julie london instead <3

I am probably one of the biggest lana del rey fans on earth. This woman inspired me so much and her albums were always so comforting growing up as a preteen and teen with so many issues. She literally raised me.When I heard Kinda Outta Luck in 2014 I was shocked and I became instantly obsessed with her.She s so drmatic but in such an artistic and beautiful way.Stream Blue Banisters <33

yeah i agree with everything u just said and coming off that point and just something else about her, when she was being groomed by her english teacher (i think it was) he gave her the book Lolita which she obviously internalised and glamourised which is why literally her entire aesthetic is based of the Lolita trope which i find really really uncomfortable.
I still love her music and shes iconic and all that but i just dunno how to feel about her

Not much of a fan.. shes kinda dated now.. she was way more relevant like a decade ago and she was doing basically what every other mainstream singer was doing so in general I forget about her often.
