Y'all I had my first terrible experience working customer service today. I work at a little rental facility at a park, and today it was rented out for a wedding. I had just gotten there and settled into the office while the maintenance guy was cleaning up from the day before. All of the sudden the maintenance guy (MG from now on) came into the office with who I later found out was the mother of the bride and a few members of the family. MG starts trying to calmly tell me that the venue was set up all wrong- fault of my supervisor for drawing up a completely wrong plan- but mother of the bride storms in and goes "I'm freaking the fuck out!" I did the usual customer service thing- you know, "I'm so sorry about that," "that's so awful and we're going to do our best to correct this," all that, and as soon as I say "What can we do for you?" she blows up and says "It needs to be fixed!!" and proceeds to tell me how she's not paying for any of this and how terrible my supervisor is. (Granted, I agree with her wholeheartedly about my supervisor) So, we of course couldn't get my supervisor to answer her phone, and instead we had to go through HER supervisor who was also kind of panicking. This lady had been my supervisor before and she was great, but she also has another position at the park so they hired my current supervisor to take over. I miss the old supervisor :( Anyways, I had to haul over 100 heavy plastic chairs outside and stack them on palettes by myself until my coworker arrived. Bonus points because he's my favorite and I hadn't seen him in several months before today, but the circumstances were really shitty. When he got there we kept on doing what we needed to do to fix up the venue, and periodically the mother of the bride would find us and keep saying shit like "I'm not paying for any of this" when my supervisor is the one that handles all the rental fees and stuff, I just work at the building. Whenever she said that though I just looked at her and said "Okay" lol.
TLDR (although I'm really just venting): Rude mother of the bride flipped out hardcore on my coworker and I for something that we had no control over. I think my supervisor is going to be fired.
