Hello all who read this, i thought id speak on something i saw in the court forum today which i will be posting about in here because it does not have anything to do with the situation happening in court.Those, my dear, were supposed to be COSPLAY LOOKS, which, by the Oxford dictionary definition represent " the hobby of dressing as and pretending to be a character from a film, TV programme, comic book, etc.:" Please, write to Disney that Pocahontas should be banned if you find the film offensive, but do not call me racist because of that. I'm far from being racist, but it's definitelly too easy to call that a person you know nothing about.

I know reading this, most of you as presumably white women you might think im being oversensitive about this. I come from a native american reservation, I have grown up seeing and experiencing first hand the inhumane effects this world has had on native american tribes and how they effect generations later. I may not know the context in which this woman is speaking or who spoke to her to set this message off but after seeing it on the court forum i cannot sit quietly. It must be very fucking nice to "dress up" as someone whos shoes you will never walk in. Did you know that in my country more than 130 "schools" were opened up whos purpose served to strip every ounce of culture from Native American children to 'normalize' them? Did you know that these schools were founded by your good Christian churches and were a coverup to mask murders and tortures of thousands of indigenous children that were taken from their homes forcibly and never got to return? Did you know the LAST of these schools finally closed in 1996. Our grandparents today are residential school survivors. The trauma of past generations sits very fucking loud with all native American people today. Did you know its government mandated to carry proof and track native American citizens? We have to carry around individual IDs to actually participate on our reservations given to us by the government, updated every 10 years. On may 27th of 2021 215 new bodies of native american children and babies were discovered in a mass unmarked graved under a residential school. By June of this past year only 2 months later that number reached 1323. Those children would have been elders in our communities today, they would have held language and tradition and stories that would be passed down for generations. That disney character you oh so dearly hold onto? Did you know she was a child? Her real name was Matoaka. She was 10 years old when she was taken by that 27 year old vile man. This is just ONE example of how Native culture is erased and rewritten. The story of 'Pochahontas' is one giant lie spread to children and families that dont know any better to make people feel better about the truth that Native American people still have to deal with today. Native American culture is NOT a costume. Did you know that in my country murder is the third leading cause for native american women? Today in 2022. Dress up and make fun and joke about this shit all you want to, it just makes you look like a fucking idiot. This is Native reality EVERY DAY. Just maybe have some fucking respect for the culture your 'dressing up' as.
