Dye said to keep the court forum strictly to the conversation at hand, i couldn't of posted it on the court forum. All im going to say is you will never know what its like to walk in my shoes and be ridiculed, harassed, and have my existence and culture always be up for public debate. That is a level of pain i can never express in words and envy others truly, for getting to never experience. Im sure you're a smart woman but your actions today truly did hurt. I'm sorry you felt offended, but I do not think I did anything wrong and definitelly had no bad intentions. Those were my cosplay looks and were inspired by the given books/films. That's all.
Ani it might be a good idea to just accept what people are saying, apologize, and move on. Everything that they are saying comes from a place of genuine pain, not from just wanting to make a white person's existence miserable. Making a cosplay outfit of a Disney character probably didn't have any ill intention in it, but when people are telling you that it's a bad idea that's rooted in racism, it's for the best to just listen. We as white people will never be able to understand what it feels like to be discriminated against for our race. That's a fact: white people do not experience racist discrimination. Someone wearing a blonde wig or pretending to be an alien is NOT in any way similar to the genocide and erasure of history that people of color have experienced.
Please just accept why people feel this way and go into the future as someone more aware and educated on these issues.

I didn't want to apologize, as I don't feel guilty for creating COSPLAY LOOKS based on film characters :) that's what cosplay is all about. It's not my fault that Pocahontas as a Disney character is so popular and I was inspired by its story. I can only feel sorry that somebody felt offended.
Yet, I've seen some looks with boombos and body hair - sb could say they offend overweight people and those who suffer hipertrichoza.
I've seen looks with black glasses - are people pretending they are blind and having fun with it?
I could enlist such examples for the eternity :)
My point is that you can't predict what would offend other people and it can be basically everything. I have no ill intentions and feel no responsibility that Disney Pocahontas can bring such drastic associations. It's a fact that such a film exists. It's a fact that a look based on its character will be a cosplay.
I won't stop loving HP books just because the author said something terrible, which I do not support. Every one can have their own opinions, likes, dislikes, and beliefs. Respect that. I love the film Pocahontas. Am I a villain because of that?

You are becoming a villain by refusing to acknowledge the hate your defending. These are not just looks anioosia this is my reality. The things im telling you arent random facts im pulling from the internet or the oxford dictionary to back up my biased point theyre my everyday experiences. You will never begin to understand just how your pindrop opinion adds to the millions. This isnt about one person your "offending" its about an entire race you are publicly disrespecting how can you not see that?

There sure is a black girl in my looks, except it's not created based on racist stereotypes or based on a racist book/movie glorifying the story of a sexually abused and exploited 12 year old native American girl who was allowed to meet an untimely death, I also created the look last year and already had plans on replacing the look with something else :)
