The tie you mentioned is just how placing always works. Like, if two players have equal number of votes and win first, then there is no second place. The next one is third. If two players share 4th place, there is no one on 5th. It's the same for 2nd and 3rd.

Oh, you have right, that's also true. Sometimes it's not about the theme at all but about aesthetics. If someone prefers one specific style chances are good style wins over the theme. Kinda disappointing for those who stick to the theme/category and put an effort in making outfit based on that.
In the past, when there was no skip button, I kinda had a theory that players since can't skip often vote for a random outfit or the one they think doesn't have chances to win. But now it doesn't make sense because skip button exists and players can vote for 1 or 2 outfits, no pressure to vote for all 3.
Being transparent and speaking your mind certainly doesn't make you a sore loser, quite contrary :)

Every single PBFC I vote for some outfits that manage to follow the theme while still being original and looking stunning and I'm always sure I'm gonna see them in top 5, but nost of the time I have to scroll through pages and pages to find their placements. Meanwhile I see looks that have nothing to do with the theme above them. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
