Chris has to be insane to think XL is going to work out following Elon's lead with twitter. I've said this in priv chat with some other members, but the only reason twitter survived Elon's idiotic changes is because of a) his huge fanboy following, b) twitter already being established as one of the biggest social media sites, and c) it being too difficult to organize full moves to alternate sites. Neither Chris nor Ximboland have the reputation to pull some shit like that. We don't need another twitter/facebook clone. If I wanted to go on twitter, I would do that instead of sitting on a broken ex-Bimbo roleplay site that refuses to moderate its users. thinking this site, especially being run the way he's running it, could ever be "bigger than facebook" is just point-blank delusion.
What drew me to Ximboland and keeps me coming back was/is: the idea of an internet democracy, the game itself, and the community. And when I say community, I don't mean trolls and bigots harassing people in their comments and forums, I mean the users I've met who have been consistently kind and go out of their way to make sure that users like that are held accountable and that we are able to have as enjoyable a time as we can, in spite of the staff's carelessness. Obviously, if you've read the screenshots posted by Iowa, he's planning on moving away from the game aspect entirely..... and I don't think I need to explain why I don't believe Chris has ever really been committed to the "democracy" part of the site concept. So what's left? I've seen XL shockingly survive a lot of terrible decisions by its ownership, but I really don't see how it could come back from the changes Chris is proposing unless he somehow manages to entirely turn around his approach to the site and its userbase and scrap 99% of the future plans that he's expressed in the messages we're seeing.
Its completely delusional to Imagine ximboland turning into something like twitter or Facebook along with Mr nuts other ambitions such as paying for content (onlyfans?) etc. It's so silly and laughable and makes it obvious how dumb and out of touch with reality mr nuts is. It is also a slap in the face to the devoted community of players. He doesnt care and he is clearly unhinged
