Water can be the responsible of your death. The sea is wild and can lead you to extreme situations but even isolated from society and technology on an island surrounded by evil water, It's also water your only hope to stay alive.

first, thank you for this fashion contest.
A little explanation on the reasons of my choice:
when I was a child, I was fascinated by documentaries on underwater life. I spend my summers at the beach, exploring the sea in search of all the creatures I can find. Growing up I became interested in myths and legends and fantasy.
I couldn't help but suggest my own version of the mermaid that I wanted closer to the underwater life that fascinated me so much. Partly translucent and bio-luminous skin. Both beautiful and fragile as well as powerful and dangerous.
Disturbed while she was quietly hunting for the day, the beautiful creature turns with force in a whirlwind of small algae. Troubling the water, she observes the imprudent diver, her face illuminated by the rays of the sun piercing the surface of the water.
"beware stranger, I may be beautiful but I am dangerous, I am venomous, come closer if you have the courage."

During the dark and stormy nights at sea, many find whispers of a honeysuckle voice floating through the wind. Give a listen, and the song will grow louder and louder until the unfortunate seamen and women find themselves plunging into the unforgiving wave. If the untamed ocean doesn't kill you her pointy spear surely will! This mistress of the sea is no ordinary siren, her only goal is to get a taste of your sweet sweet flesh, and I mean that literally! Nothing beats human flesh on a perfect gloomy day deep in the ocean. Many believe that they will be the one to win the love of the watery witch and gain all her riches, but who has time for mortals? Certainly not her, she's too busy building up her army of sea people and planning to eradicate everything other than marine life.
Bloody John-the terrror of three oceans. He was cursed for his crimes and now he is doomed to sail the seas forever without his flesh.

My entry is siren, the beautiful creature from mythologies of Greece. She seduces men with her singing and beauty and then kills them!
She's killed a whole crew of the pirate ship (that sailed to rocks because of her) and saved the clueless and hypnotized Johnny Depp looking guy the last.
Salene is a siren; she was born on the north coast of the Aegean Sea with the wings of a bird and the tail of a fish, a rare and prized combination. From infant-hood, born from a clamshell, she was lavished with praise and idolatry; and her community was grateful to Poseidon and the Muses for her loveliness and strength, and made sacrifices in their names. Salene was tone-deaf, however, and nor could she play the harp — her fingers, covered in scales, were too slippery to pluck the strings — and at the tender age of 75, she fled home for the gentler seas of the East. There she found the island of Lesvos, where she had many lovers and made the acquaintance of Sappho. Sappho was enamored of Salene and prayed to Artemis, gazing at the full moon that shined upon them, for a gift worthy of her beautiful and elusive lover; she knew of Salene’s despair, but did not know what caused it, for Salene spoke to no one — she was so ashamed of her voice. Artemis was moved by Sappho’s love for the siren and granted the poet her wish; in the night, she forged a bow from strange Olympic metals and plucked a ray of moonlight for the string, supple enough for even Salene’s scaly fingers. While Sappho slept, she bestowed a kind of magic upon her lips; and when Sappho woke to the arms of her lover Salene, she laid a kiss upon her forehead and saw that a crescent moon appeared there. The bow materialized before her, as luminous as the moon, and she roused Salene from her sleep and gave it to her. Now Salene waxes and wanes with the moon, and the symbol on her forehead changes with its patterns. When the moon is out, she hunts chauvinists and colonial thieves, and when the new moon rises, she lays with Sappho and listens to her read aloud her poetry. She never speaks herself.
