princess of aioca, she appears to those who die at the sea and takes them to the distant lands of the unknown. she has white hair that mixes with the foam of the waves and has incredible beauty that makes everyone who sees her fall in love so much they would jump in the deep sea without thinking
Sage is performing a mermaid bit live but she's oh so unprofessionally breaking the "illusion" of being underwater by smoking! But at least she agreed to the creepy producer INSISTING mermaids don't wear shoes so he can see her feet... its part of the sex appeal, he says...

I'm Iara, a traditional mermaid from Brazilian folklore.
Iara tends to bathe in the rivers and sing an irresistible melody, so that the men who see her cannot resist their desires and jump into the river. She has the power to blind anyone who admires her and take any man she wants to the bottom of the river. The Indians believe in the power of Iara so much that they avoid passing by the lakes at sunset.
According to legend, Iara was a warrior Indian, the best of the tribe, and received much praise from her father, who was a shaman. Iara's brothers were very jealous and decided to kill her at night, while sleeping. Iara, who had a very sharp ear, heard them and killed them.
Afraid of her father's reaction, Iara ran away. Her father, the tribe's shaman, carried out an unrelenting search and managed to find her, as a punishment for the deaths he threw her at the meeting of the Negro and Solimões Rivers, some fish brought the girl to the surface and transformed her into a beautiful mermaid.
