ive got mixed feelings honestly
The tiktok algorithm literally only shows me stuff that I like, mostly leftist politics and boys in maid outfits,
so I don't really see what the drama is all about. I have a good time on the app.

i am starting to see more of gen z being treated as millennials were once treated with tiktok being the core battleground of this manufactured generational war. the fabricated skinny jeans and middle parts drama is an example of that. i haven't seen a single gen z person disparage people who make those fashion choices. i've only seen tiktoks of upper middle class white millennial women complaining and i spend quite a bit of time scrolling through the app. gen z tiktok users are actually in my opinion the biggest proponents of body positivity and the loudest advocates for wearing whatever the hell you want.
every social media is going to have toxic content. every single one. tiktok is not unique but from what i've personally seen on it, there are a lot of young people bringing awareness to important issues using that platform which gives me a lot of hope for the future. same goes with other digital places populated with a lot of the younger gen z's. i really feel like the awareness and activism outweighs the toxicity on tiktok. i know when i was that age it was considered weird to be concerned with social and political issues. the vitriol towards "sjws" was at an all time high. but things aren't the same anymore, and as an old gen z i am proud.

i hate it i deleted it like a month ago
I like it because it's a lot of short content. I have trouble paying attention to long youtube videos if I'm not doing something else at the same time so I just like the shortness of the content. I do think parts of it can be pretty toxic though. I've curated my fyp to be like, lgbt people and entertaining stuff. Although the occasional straight tiktok video slips in and ugh I've never hit not interested so fast.
