My mom wanted a McDonald's "Big Mac" so I bought her one for her Lunch yesterday. She commented on it not being very hot. I thought yup she's right, although my cheeseburger was warm you couldn't say for sure it was hot. I wondered as we ate if their burgers are ever hot? Is it just a british thing? Do us Brits want all the cooked food we eat to be like super hot when we eat it? I think back to my first visit to Italy and being told by the tour manager to expect food that is warm rather than hot, apparently that's how the Italians eat their cooked meals warm rather than hot. Is this true of other countries? is this true about Italy? Or were we just fobbed off with this as an excuse for not getting our prepared hotel food piping hot? anyhoo onward....

you bring up a good point, i think the reason is mostly because most fast food will be made hot and then sit in warmers until they're ordered, so they'll be a tish meh. the idea of a hot big mac is slightly perturbing to me though lol. but restaurant dishes are almost always hot hot

Oooh yes! I totally agree, I wouldn't venture into a McDonald's for anything other than a Sausage and Egg McMuffin and Coffee usually as I don't really do their burgers. I only went as Mom wanted it. I choose "real" food over convenience but sometimes you just need a little "junk" and I was easy to persuade, after all who really wants to argue with heir mom? *smiles and winks*

it’s genuinely so nice to have a friend group again. i haven’t really had a set of friends that hang out together since middle school. (i moved every two years and then covid hit). our group goes to the bar every tuesday, has dnd on the weekends, and we play games and call on ocassion. i know it probably won’t last too long, but it’s really, really nice while it lasts

I don't know, friends made in adulthood tend to stick around longer than those made whilst in school. My childhood friendships are just memories now, while the ones I made as an adult through work or just casually saying hello while out shopping have lasted longer and they tend to be more accepting of me not wanting to join in with social gatherings they are understanding of my shortcomings in that area. I'm so pleased you have friends with common interests. It's nice when that happens. Whenever I think about DND I always think about some of my siblings evenings playing with their friends. I got to help out sometimes but mainly I enjoyed painting the figures.
