Many sympathies with you LillyAnne I hope you recover soon.

So it starts, the slippery slope... My Rep points are being eroded by all those using using artefacts and being able to spend time on the game while the craze continues. I really don't mind and I'm happy that you all seem to be getting the benefit of the craze. Why did I choose this week to cover for my co-workers that needed time off... Bad timing indeed, I could have been laying on the sofa playing BL all day but i'm at work instead ;-)

Have fun everyone!

when I was little and said that I had a migraine, people looked at me strangely because they didn't really understand what my problem was. as I was growing up, it made my life very difficult. and today, wherever I look, someone is struggling with this problem. I feel sorry for you LillyAnn!

Awwwwwh I'm so sorry other people didn't understand you Anastazja! Migraines are so debilitating and awful and I totally empathize with you. Mine make me go blind in one half of my vision (or it gets VERY distorted and janky, like a vibrating kaleidoscope) and I lose spatial awareness on that side too. Like my hand won't feel like my hand lol.. And then the pain is so bad I need to block out all sound and light and curl up into a ball and hope i fall asleep... Literally disables me entirely. it's been so frustrating the past couple of months as they've gotten more frequent, I'd just like to do basic stuff aaaagghhh!  But to try and stay positive, I have a doctor appointment next week and I think we're getting close to narrowing down the suspects! Also, I just recently learned there's such a thing as Botox for migraines! Not the Botox you usually think of haha

I’m a chronic migraineur, my sympathies to all who suffer from migraine. I know everyone who suffers from migraine has different experiences, they are complex and personal and difficult for people who don’t suffer from them to understand i think because the experiences and symptoms of those who suffer from them are so varied. My experience is very different to Anastazja’s for example, i never had them as a child or teenager but one day i suffered a serious migraine attack as an adult (it was associated with a brain infection) and I went from being someone who didn’t suffer migraine to being in a permanent state of migraine and struggled with the simplest mental tasks. Now 6 years later with the help of several preventative medications / therapies (as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle and otherwise trying to do as much as i can to avoid triggering migraine) my migraines are much less frequent and some days i feel normal. Mine often last for a week or more and can be physically and mentally disabling. I have tried many medications, some ineffective, some with side effects worse than the migraine (if you can imagine that). And though I have not been cured yet my current course of treatment is successful in not only reducing the number and duration of my migraines but also reducing the intensity of them. The latest generation of migraine specific drugs are wonderful and have no obvious side effects. Botox was very effective for me - it is the same drug used for cosmetic procedures but applied in different areas (e.g. upper forehead, scalp and back of the neck). I share my experience for the benefit of non-migraines as much as for the interest of those who suffer, to raise awareness of those who suffer migraine. Migraine is super common, poorly understood (by us all) and those who suffer from them are often unfairly stigmatised. Take care xx

There will always be other crazes, so don't be bothered by it too much.

I have had migraines w/nausea & dizziness before, especially a cluster of them last year, but thankfully none recently.

As for Botox, the treatment can be used for a number of medical reasons, not just cosmetic ones. I have a patient who was recommended Botox for her esophagus! She chose not to have it due to the cost. As a result, she is limited to eating pureed food due to difficulty swallowing. (Swallowing isn't just getting food out of the mouth but includes going down the esophagus to the stomach. In her case, the esophagus muscles are contracted & only allow liquids or puree through.)
