Pocahontas was miserable living as royalty in England. She felt like she was doing nothing with her life, and it affected her relationship with her husband John Rolfe. The passion faded quickly from there. Luckily, John was understanding when Pocahontas left England to start a new life (again). She returned to the states, went to veterinary school, and got her DVM. She sold all the expensive gifts that John bought her and opened up an animal conservatory/rescue near the Powhatan tribe she once came from. With her special ability to communicate with nature, she was able to take in many different animals (including her own beloved Meeko and Flit). When the costs of running the rescue on her own were too much, she never lost hope. She took house calls and treated any pet you could imagine to scrape up extra money. And mysteriously, an anonymous benefactor, known simply as JR, started to make generous donations, allowing her to help thousands of animals for years to come. Pocahontas had finally found her calling and true happiness. She never decided to remarry after returning to the states, but instead considered herself married to her profession.
