So I think there are different ways to go about it. We are doing a closed one in a jar so it should sustain itself without having to be opened. Which is super cool I think ahaha. So I’ll probably do a ground layer of pebbles for filtration of the water when it condensates. And then perhaps some coal if I can get it and then a layer of dirt from the forest some moss and other stuff. I don’t know exactly but something along those lines.
But yes I’ve seen some do like an aquarium tank with self sustaining systems and some who had a closed jar for like 6 years. It’s a little universe of it’s own.
